MUSC BSN FALL 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey! Just wondering if anyone out there has applied for the MUSC BSN Program for Fall 2014??? I plan on applying this December so just want to know if any other applicants are out there or if anyone knows any tips that you could provide for getting in :) thanks in advance!!!

I finally received my letter last week as well. Hopefully some people start declining soon so they can make some room for alternates :) If anyone is on the alternate list and gets a call, let us know! I know I'm not at the top of the list but am anxious to know when they start calling alternates.

Has anyone received their acceptance packages yet?

Hello everyone I just got accepted for fall as well and I have received my packet in the mail since Saturday. I couldn't find the Facebook group and would like the link please!!!

Sharnice, did you get the link???

Yes I did thanks !!

Congratulations to everyone who got in! I'm considering applying for the Spring 2015 cohort and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight about the program--I can't pm on here since I haven't made 15 comments, so I apologize for that. I'm a nineteen-year-old guy and I'm currently a Genetics major at Clemson, but I would really like a degree in nursing (I can't see myself in a lab for the rest of my life, and a BSN offers so many different opportunities). I would just stay at Clemson and work towards admission into their nursing program, but its just as competitive, or possibly even more competitive than MUSC's. I won't be able to apply to change my major to nursing until January 2015, and even if I am accepted I'll have to stay an extra semester; whereas I can graduate a year early from MUSC's program. I feel like the program is geared towards those who are looking for a second degree in nursing, but the program doesn't require a degree in another field so I'm seriously considering MUSC's program. I'm not too hung up on getting a traditional college experience; however, I feel like it may be difficult for me to fit in because of my age, even though I don't mind working alongside others from different stages of life than me (ie married with kids, etc.). I'm also definitely interested in pursuing some kind of advanced practice--either CRNA or DNP, and being able to gain work experience would definitely help me. Can any current students give me their opinion on whether or not I would be a good fit for the program? Thanks!

I just found this forum and am excited to chat with future cohorts. I am from Portland, Or and just sent in my out of state bill to hold my place last week so it is all becoming very real that I will be moving across the country in a few months. Congratulations to everyone who go in and for those of you who are still waiting to hear or considering other options, I wish you the best.

mamagui, would you please message me the FB link? Thank you!

Welcome asherstar! I PM'd you the link for the FB group. Boy are you in for a culture shock! Although I have never been to Oregon (although it is a goal of mine in life to at least visit!), I have enough friends that have lived and visited there to have somewhat of an idea as to what it is like. South Carolina is wayyyyyyyyy more.....conservative. BUT, it is quite beautiful here, there are lots of parks, and there are white, sandy beaches :)

...and ultimately, you will probably be too busy in school to notice anyway LOL. Let me know if you need anything :)

Yes I know : ) So I have heard. It will be a big transition but I have heard very good things about Charleston! Thank you! I will let you know.

Have any alternates had any good news yet??

No I'm waiting to hear back, hopefully soon!!! Praying that we both get in @apriest!!! Just have all your stuff ready to go such as immunizations and financial aid!!! When is the last day for the people that got accepted to confirm their spot in the program?
