MUSC Accelerated BSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, I'm planning to apply to MUSC for the spring of 2018. I was wondering if anyone else is planning to apply as well? Also those who were accepted into the program already in the previous semesters, could you share what your grades were?

Hey I'm applying for spring 2018 too! I hope to get in. I know it is very gpa based. My cumulative gpa is a 3.7, sciences is a 4.0 and prereq is a 4.0. I dont have that much volunteer experience. I volunteered with a nonprofit pediatric cancer place for 4 years but not in a healthcare setting and I recently shadowed a np. I hope that helps!

Hey guys! I'm applying for the Spring as well! I am just worried about my GPA. I didn't start off the best with school due to family and health issues for a while but my grades significantly improved since then and after getting an A in both micro and stats this summer I should have a gpa around 3.45ish but not sure of my science gpa. I hope they can look around my first year. I'm hoping my saving grace would be experience hours I should have around 2000 hours by the time I apply.

Would anybody be looking for a roommate if they get into MUSC. If I get in I will be looking.

Hi, I will have 63 credits when the program starts, 4.0 GPA so far, 4 summers volunteering at special needs center, lots of shadowing, and a bunch more resume fluff. Never had a job in medicine, but I have had a few long term jobs. Major disadvantage is that I have not taken A&P II or microbio yet, will take it this fall. I applied anyway because I think my 4.0 in A&P I and all other courses shows that I'm not likely to fail the remaining two. Is there a way to see how many people have applied?

Yes, I am looking for a roomate if I get in :) I'm from out of state and don't like living alone.

Hey all! I applied priority for Spring 2018, already have a bachelors, GPA 3.76 with 4.0 in prerequisites, only one left to take. From everything I've seen from past applicant groups, after GPA, volunteer and work experience are the next biggest factors in acceptance. Being an SC resident also factors in (I'm not, dang it). I do have my NA I certification, and I've been working as a medical office assistant for a year and a half, with special needs volunteer experience as well. I got accepted to Duke's program (it was my backup plan lol), but it's twice the price, they didn't accept two of my prerequisites and didn't offer me any scholarship, and on top of that the deadline to accept (with a $500 nonrefundable deposit) is before MUSC even starts reviewing applications -.- so that was a complete bust.

Sweet maybe we can meet up on Facebook if we both get in and maybe live together. My family is in the Charleston area and can apartment search easily.

How are we supposed to plan for roommates etc. if we will not even know if we are until November? That seems a little bit late to be getting acceptance letters out.

Hi! I also am applying for the spring 2018 and will be looking for a roommate as well if I do get accepted!!!. I am quite nervous about this process. My stats are not amazing but a above the minimum requirements. I have a bachelors degree and a ton of health care experience as I have been a Nurses' assistant for over 3 years and have done my fair share of community work. I really hope that they will consider these aspects higher than my average grades. I would love to go here and would love to start in January rather than wait till next fall. I know nursing is my passion so I just want to start as soon as possible. There aren't too many other programs that start in the spring so I hope this one gives me a chance!! if any previous students can share stats and insight about the application process, specifically those who applied for the spring term, this would be really helpful and calm my nerves!!

Hey y'all!! I applied for spring admission as well! I'm and undergrad "pre-nursing" student right now and I have 65+ credit hours including my current semester, I have about a 3.4 (which is their minimum requirement so I'm nervous about that!), but my prereq GPA is about a 3.6 so we'll see! I have a good amount or volunteering and work experience, some patient care based and some not! Good luck to everyone and I really really hope we'll be meeting each other next semester!

Hi everyone!

I'm applying for spring 2018 and JUST submitted my application tonight. I am incredibly nervous as I sent in two of my transcripts electronically a week ago and sent one in the mail from my home in WA to MUSC on Friday. I am anxious my transcripts will not get processed in time with the college closing down for hurricane Irma! :-/ Anyone have any insight on this? Besides all that, here are my stats:

Graduated with honors with a BA in Psychology in 2012 - 3.58 GPA

Prereq GPA - 3.8

--> Worked for nearly 3 years with a medical device company as an "specialist" aka operating room technician

--> Currently working as a medical scribe for 2 different pediatric physicians (~6 months)

--> CPR and nursing assistant certified

I think the hardest part of the application was the essay..100 words was brutal as I have so much varied experience. I am hoping and praying my transcripts arrive and are processed in time and also hope I have a chance! I have been working towards this dream for a long time. My husband is military too and I would move from WA to SC on my own in hopes that he could eventually PCS, so I will likely need a roommate! :) Good luck everyone!
