MUSC ABSN Spring 2015

Published

Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

I'm right there with you! I have a mountain of debt from undergrad. Borrowing even more for a second bachelor's seriously scares me. There's a pretty big chance I'll have to borrow extra money for rooming in Charleston if my sister can't take me in. Also, I will be looking for part-time work to take care of my car payment every month.

Still haven't received my letter. Does it come with information about financial aid and scholarships? I am feeling stressed that we only have two months to get everything worked out. I need a room, health insurance plan, a job, financial aid, etc.

The financial aid dept emailed me weeks ago. If you haven't heard from them, I would suggest contacting them. Start looking for private loans. I have estimated total cost per year to be around $40000/year or about $80000 total. That's room and board, insurance, books, basically everything I could think of plus what is listed on the website. That would be without working and spending $1000/month on rent and utilities. I don't have any other bills except for car insurance and cell phone. There are also scholarships too, but I guess those are given out later. I have been looking at apartments in West Ashley for around $700/month. I am sure more will be revealed at the orientation and once our financial aid is processed.

Wow you've been number crunching!!! I can't wait for orientation so they can divulge more details about scholarships and financial aid. I'm going to email someone in the office to set up an appointment so that I can look at all my options.

Ehh....No the packet didn't give info about scholarships or financial aid...only a list of charges!! LOL! I hope you get your letter soon.

I found this on MUSC's website...looks like there are all kinds of scholarships through MUSC. The numbers above are kind of a "worse case" scenario haha. Check out this webpage...MUSC Foundation Scholarships For Nurses
