Hi everyone!!!

I wanted to go ahead and make a thread for MUSC's Spring 2015 hopefuls. I know it is a little bit early to start this thread, but I am just so excited. I am looking forward to everyone stats and encouragement for each other. Looking forward to the results!!!

Hey guys! I'm also waiting to find out if I got into for Spring 2015 and I got the financial aid packet this morning as well. I agree with musckim! I applied before and was rejected and did not receive the financial aid packet then! So hopefully it means we got in or are at least alternates!

Wow so this has to be more than a coincidence then because this happened to both you and musckim! Interesting!

Did everyone on the platform received the financial aid packet? Or can Joseph and his friend confirm if they have an idea what is means? Shaking over here...it literally 4:00am in AZ but I woke up to check my emails again!

I talked to Mardi Long yesterday and she said the admissions committee will meet end of this week beginning of next week :(

Sorry for the delay dreamMUSC. As you can imagine I am very busy and don't think about this forum as much as I used to (hehe). I don't know that I have any especially exciting information to share about the program that you all haven't already heard, but I will say I am enjoying myself while very much looking forward to being finished in May. The program does move very quickly; however, I don't think it's as hard as everyone makes it sound (while it certainly is challenging). I think my best advice is to do your best to make your own opinions about people, the curriculum, the material, etc. and try not to pay attention to the people in your cohort that will be the vocal parties. It is a small community of students, and stress is one of those things that you can inherit from someone else when you might not even be stressed at all. Working is possible if you can still be flexible with your job; the college does their best to accommodate everyone in special circumstances, but try not to abuse this. Be an advocate for yourself, form your own opinions, and stay focused on your goal! If we can remember to do those things we will all be great nurses one day. This program has certainly been preparing me.

Also the financial aid email doesn't really indicate anything. I got the email but know others that did not. Also, if they haven't met yet (and if they say they haven't they probably haven't..they sit for like 5 hours and make decisions and then it's over), they can't very well send you guys info about financial aid- they are two different offices that don't really talk a whole bunch. One thing you will learn if you're accepted is that the CON isn't always doing things on a timeline you might like, so getting used to last minute scheduling is a must :)

Hi guys! I'm bummed we may not hear back for another few days. This waiting is killing me.

I have a question for you guys. I work at a pharmacy here in Beaufort through which I receive health coverage benefits. I will no longer be employed full-time to continue receiving those benefits so I won't have the health insurance required for the program on January 1st. I am currently exploring my options but I could really use some guidance. Can I get coverage through MUSC? If so, I believe this will be the most affordable option. If not, do any of you have suggestions? I'm not married and my parents cannot afford to add me onto their plans. I'm stuck. :/
