Murfreesboro LPN schools

Published

Hi All,

Just wondering if someone here can help me with some information...

I am wanting to relocate to Murfreesboro (from Canada) in the not too distant future. My goal is to attend an LPN program there. I know of Tennessee Tech, and have applied (very recently), but are there any other LPN schools in Murfreesboro or closely surrounding towns you would recommend? Any information regarding schools, living in M'boro and/or working as an LPN would be deeply appreciated.

I will be coming down for a week toward the end of March and would like to get as much accomplished as possible- hopefully completing admission req's like taking the HOBET, etc.

Aside from working a full time job and a part time job, I am currently taking a Medical Terminology certificate course (for kicks and to get back into the habit of studying) and volunteering at the children's hospital because I

-eventually- want to get into pediatric nursing. Baby steps! lol

Anywho, any advice would be =wonderful=. Please feel free to email me @ [email protected] if you have any q's or comments. Bless you and thank you++ in advance for your time and your help!

I think there may be a LPN program at Motlow Community College but I'm not sure.

Motlow is an RN program actually.

Tennessee Tech in Murfreesboro is the only LPN program that's actually in Murfreesboro. Really, the only LPN programs around here are at the Tennessee Tech schools. Motlow does have a LPN-ADN bridge program-- after I get my LPN it's only going to take me like a year and a half to get my RN. Good luck! Hopefully I will see you in the LPN program this fall!

i graduated from the lpn program at the technology center in murfreesboro last year and love working as a nurse now. it is very competitive to get into and is based on your score on the entrance test. there is a class you can take to prepare for the entrance test if you feel that would help. there is also a study book you can buy from the bookstore. you can call the school and ask about either of these helpful ways to improve your score. those with the top scores are interviewed and from those, the class is selected. the program itself is very intense, but good. the instructors really care about you and help any way they can. but, you must have an 80 or above for all classes (no exceptions!) or you fail out, and a good number of people do fail out. it will be stressful – far more stressful than college, but it is amazing what you can learn in one year. working a job while in school is discouraged, because you need every minute out of class to study. a supportive family is needed as this will be one of the most stressful experiences of your life, but it is so worth it. i feel i was well prepared for the state nursing boards and for working as a nurse. i don’t regret going through the program at all, but i will say it was the hardest year of my life. i am taking classes to get my rn now and find them much easier after lpn school. i would recommend this program and this approach to getting your rn or np. it is a great first step and being an lpn is a good job. i love the job i have.:)

Hi. Can anyone tell me about the "group interview" at Tennessee Technology Center in Murfreesboro? What kind of questions do they ask? How many interviewers? Thanks.

I am taking the compass next week in Murfreesboro. Have just finished the hesi exam for Motlow. How fast does Tennessee technology let you regarding acceptance? Does someone have a rundown of the test itself? What's a competitive score? I know the bare minimums. Got an 89.2 on hesi...do u think this bodes a decent compass score as they are similar with exception of anatomy section? Thank u. This is my first post!
