Muncie LPN!!!!!!!!!!!

Published

I forgot this is March Break!

I wonder if they will be mailed on Thursday or not till next week?

ewwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

Brenda

Yes....I got it today!...I GOT IN!!!!!!!...LOL:yeah:..But remember how I told you they take apps for Marion and Muncie? They let 20 in Muncie and 20 in Marion, and they decide where you go according to the city you live in? Well, I live a few miles outside of Muncie, so I got chosen for the Marion campus. Which is still ok, cause it's only about 35-40 mins away from me. I don't care...Just know I have no more waiting...Now to try and keep good grades will be the challenge. I did greatin LPN never below a B, but i'm sure it is a different story now.

Thanks for you support,

Good luck!

:up:Mrs Frog or anyone who took ANP 201 online,

I signed up for the online ANP 201 today in Muncie, it says it is out of Terre Haute. My question is this; why does it have a day and time on it if it is an online class? Don't they offer this class totally online? I thought peope said they took it online and only had to go to one lab day in Terry Haute, but it has Wed. from like 8a-11a down as time of class. So, i'm a bit confused rifht now, cause I thought you could take it totally online, and I would like to. I start the transitional program this summer, and still need ANP 201.

Thanks,

Jill:bow::nurse:

Jill,

I have never seen ANP 201 as just an online course. Its so intense that you need to go to lab days, every Thursday, at Terra Haute. ( I called them just to check). And its a condensed course which I have heard is an absolute killer even during the normal 16 week one.

A word of advice, I would not do a summer course while attending the summer "catch up" classes we need to do for the transitional program. I was told by the nursing chair here in B-town that we will need to focus on a TON of info that will be done in labs and lecture for 10 weeks during our classes from May 26-Aug 4th.

How many co-req's do you have left to do?

If its only one, I would wait until August to start as you will have much more time then.

I was going to sign up for my last one........Chem 101, for the summer also but was told that it would be too heavy a load especially for a fast track course.

But anyhow.............yes, you would need to attend labs one day a week at Terra Haute.

When is your orientation? Mine is next week! I am SO excited!

Question: Why are you taking ANP 201? Are you going on to BSN after? And those co-req courses don't have to be completed until the day you graduate.

Brenda :)

:bow:Brenda,

No I am not planning on going for my BSN. But I will only have my Microbiology done out of the 2 science classes we have to choose. My friend who went through the transitional a few years back had to have all 4 of them. And she advised doing the ANP 201 instead of Chem or Physics. She said it was much easier. She also said the summer session of transitional was really easy, just the tranition to RN class which she said was basically a waste of time. So I just figured it would be best to take the extra class in summer. I still have to do the extra psychology and interpersonal communications. So I wanted to take one extra class a semester, as to not be too overwhelmed. Any info you have though is greatly appreciated. Let me know if you know any different. I want to plan this the best I can, but I have never me with an acutal advisor all through school.

Thanks

Jill:bow::yeah:

I am taking Micro now. I have discovered that I really hate germs! LOL!

I was going to take the ANP 201 but heard its a killer so I opted for Chem. The rest of them I have all done. I could not imagine doing all 4 science classes. Yuck!

Interpersonal comm is an easyyyyyyyyyy course as well as Human Development.

I did all of mine on line and love it!

When is your orientation??

Would love to keep in touch to compare notes on what we think about this experience!

Brenda

Brenda,

My orientation is not until April 22nd. Which is another reason I am not sure how to proceed with my 3 co-reqs that I still need to complete. I suppose if I call the office they may advise me of which to take if any for summer semester. I am in micro right now as well. I attend class at muncie campus and i absolutely love it. I'm so confused though as to what to do about the 3 co-reqs. Oh the stresses, will they ever end?...LOL:cry:

Jill:banghead:

Can you log into your campus connect and do a search for nursing classes?

I was able to do that last night and found the "transitional" spots on "save". It showed the days/times that my classes would be. That may help you if you can find it. Look under Summer 2008 nursing.

Since you are a recent grad from the LPN program, I would assume that the 10 weeks should be fairly "old hat" for you. Its a refersher course basically and to cover the important stuff the RN's did in their 1st and 2nd semesters. Since I took my LPN 18 years ago in Canada, and I am olddddddddd :o)..it may be a different story for me.

If you could take Human Development and Interpersonal skills together this summer, they are both easy as pie courses.( they are almost laughable)!

And then take your ANP2 or Chem this fall. That way, you will have more time.

But you won't be able to take ANP 201 online anywhere. So you may want to switch to Chem 101. I heard its very easy and three people I have spoken too sid they never even needed the book as the instructor ( Lawrence Wolfe) gives all the notes you need in a folder on line so you can just print them off. The darn book for Chem is 400.00!

I will do a search for your classes as well and let you know if I can find them. I can do that here under my campus connect.

Brenda

I found it for you! Lucky duck............you only go from may 27th-July 21st and then have the summer off! :yeah:

So your lectures will be Mondays and Thursdays from 8-11:50 and your labs will be on Tuedays 8-5pm
