plan on spending a lot of hours your first semester then depending on your program you should have a couple of easir semesters throughout the duration. Just remember that everything you learn will be built on, so if you don't understand it get help. Ex; if you don't get fluids and electrolytes then you will have a really hard time with resp. acidosis/alkalosis and metabolic acidosis/alkalosis. Good luck!

A good guide is always 3 hours of studying for each credit. Nursing school seems to be that more condensed than many other college level programs, so you may find that 3 hrs. per credit is not enough. I NEVER EVER seemed to be done studying. There is so much stuff to get into your brain. Some of my classmates seemed to find extra time. A couple even worked full time (only one of those made Dean's list though.) I could not have done that, so I admire people who can. One thing that all my classmates did agree on was that a good care plan takes 12-15 hours to do. Good Luck! :)

Be prepared to "live" nursing school. You will study all the time, or will be working in a project, or will be talking nursing school. It is just very intense, but wonderful. I cannnot wait until I'm done (2 more quarters) and have all that "free" time!
Congrats by the way. It is a fun ride.

I heard that 2-3 hours per course a week is recommended. Good luck.

The bad thing is school is your life for two years. The good thing is that it is ONLY two years!
