Specializes in med surg,stroke.

I was trying to get a job interview for a certain hospital since a year and luckily I have a 1st stage - phone interview next week. I do not care for salary or commute as I adore this hospital work environment. There would be phone interview. I know I can answer all questions but am just nervous like hell. I have 14 months RN experience. What kind of questions the recruiter can ask me with my year experience. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I am excited, nervous,happy, scared...

Specializes in ER, ICU.

I've had a number of phone interviews. They will ask general questions like 'tell us how you went out of your way for a patient' or something like that. The questions are focused on what kind of a person you are, your work ethic, and so on. I doubt there will be any nursing specific questions like the pediatric dose of romazecon or the pathophsyiology of pyschogenic polydipsea. They will probably ask your plans for your career, where you see yourself in five years, and if you were a vegetable which one would you be and why ;) Dont' forget to have some good reasons why you want to work there. Do some research on the hospital. Good luck!

Specializes in acute care then Home health.

I heard of a nurse one time that looked up answers on her computer while she was on a phone interview like for med questions. Now that I think would take talent, but I've heard of it. lol I would review common meds in your specialty area.
