With test cancellations due to the virus, I am worried that I won’t have my CCRN before the application deadline. Is anyone else in a similar boat?

I would email Pam and ask her how they are handling the situation. Have you signed up for CCRN? I was still able to sign up for GRE in April, they still have some testing centers open or are administering online proctored tests from home.

Guys, I am worried. I am unable to take my CCRN and GRE before May. I tried the at-home GRE and my computer shut the program down and my exam was cancelled due to a technical glitch. I am going to try to reschedule GRE but CCRN testing center near me is not open until first week of May or later. I don’t know how competitive I will be without both of those...

I would email Ms. Nimmo and just update her. I have been emailing back and forth for a few weeks now. I still have not taken my CCRN because of this as well, but the application isn't due until late May, so you MAY still have time pending the testing centers. Other schools I have talked to said they are aware of the testing centers. For another school I'm applying to, regarding CCRN, I was told to submit my application and then just go back and put if I passed. So it just depends on the programs, but it does not hurt to email and discuss your concerns.

From Ms. Nimmo regarding GRE, CCRN, etc:

Good morning,
Thank you for your interest in Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. MTSA is aware that ETS has closed the testing sites for the GRE exam in light of the COVID-19 developments. ETS has announced it will temporarily be administering the exam in an "at home" format. This format is not available to those who have a MAC computer.

MTSA is also aware that ACLS, BLS, PALS and CCRN certification classes and exams have also been canceled or postponed during this quarantine period.

The Program Director would like to encourage you to continue with your application completion and submission even if you do not have these certifications. MTSA will require the GRE and current ACLS certification to be completed as soon as possible. This will not effect the decision of the Screening Committee when selecting the applicants that will be invited to interview.

If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at [email protected] or [email protected].

Thank you for your service on the front lines as we fight this pandemic.

Sincerely,

Pam Nimmo
Admissions Coordinator

Hey guys,

I just recently submitted my app and found this thread. I decided to join because I feel like we can keep each other in check with all of the uncertainty going around. Good luck to everyone and please share any information you guys figure out about the process. I will do the same.

I got this email about interviews And Covid-19:

”Thank you for applying to Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. Due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and for social distancing protection of the MTSA Interview Committee, as well as each candidate, MTSA will begin the interview process in an online format earlier than the in-person June dates previously chosen.

The Screening Committee will review completed applications and select the applicants to interview. If you are invited to interview, you will receive an email with instructions to schedule your appointment with the Admissions Committee.

The May 31 application deadline is still being maintained. MTSA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 issue as it relates specifically to travel and the continuing interview process. It may be that all interviews will be done in an online format. We will continue to communicate with those who have completed applications or have an application in process. “

I also got that email. In another group I follow, someone else said they already received an email to interview the first week of May. The person said they submitted their application in early January, and the college said they were interviewing locals first. Has anyone else heard anything?
