MTA position-Department of Corrections?

An MTA is a combination of an LVN and a corrections officer. You would be handing out medications, sending inmates to see an RN or a doc when necessary, being a first responder to "man down," patting down prisoners, controlling their behavior, locking them up, handcuffing them, being more "one of the guys" with custody staff than with medical/nursing staff.

NOTE WELL: CDC has a policy of mandatory overtime, so you can expect to work any shift CDC chooses, at any time they choose, with or without any advance notice to you, up to 4 extra shifts/week and more if an "emergency" is called. As a matter of routine in many CDC facilities you would be working 7 to 9 shifts (all shifts, all hours) every week, and more if needed.

Thank you so much!! You have been more than helpful. I drove to Vacaville (Correctional Medical Facility) and it took me over an hour to get there. I dont think I want to drive that far everyday and deal with prisioners on top of it. I dont think this is for me. Thanks again!
