Thank you! I am going to fight for my spot, that's for sure. I feel I deserve a fair consideration. I worked so hard for this. 😓

Congrats! That was such a relief! Also, did you apply to any other programs? 90 is a pretty high score, and you should be accepted everywhere! Right now, I am accepted by both Mt Sac and Rio Hondo, so I am debating which one to go to. Does anyone have insight into these 2 programs, and what would your choice be? Any input is appreciated!

I think I would def pay attention to commute and passing rate. Tbh, I only applied to Mt.Sac but I got all my prerequisites at Riverside City College. The thing is, I live in Pomona & Mt sac does clinicals at my job. But also, my co workers have told me that getting accepted to any ADN is amazing cus you save so much money! I think both programs are great. So this my input on that ☺️

Thank you! I applied to schools that were closest to my home and believe it or not only Mt Sac awarded me points in the 90s. It was also my number one choice as I have taken all my classes here for the last 2 years. It's the only acceptance I have gotten so far.

As for picking between the two, for me I would focus on NCLEX pass rate, commute time, and class schedule.

https://www.RN.ca.gov/education/passrates.shtml

Rio hondo had a 94% pass rate lass year which is really good and MT SAC got an 88%. I don't know much about the actual program but I searched the times and days they have class for fall so you can kind of get an idea if you would like it.

As for Mt Sac, I've only heard plenty of good things. Instructors are great, clinicals are usually nearby to school, days range from mon-fri, never heard of night shift clinicals, and we get to do a preceptorship of our choice specialty( some schools don't offer this). A preceptorship is great to help prepare you for obtaining a job immediately upon finishing school in a specialty you are highly interested in and to see if it is a good fit for you.

Your best bet is accepting both positions, attending both orientations, and then making your decision.

Congrats and good luck! 😊

Thank you so much for researching and listing the good and bad! I am going to consider the points you made. Right now, one of my classmates who got accepted to Rio Hondo last cycle told me that the program is pretty hard, and he is barely passing. He passed all his science pre-reqs with As. Another friend of mine who is studying in Mt Sac right now has no issues so far.
