Mt sac nursing fall 2020

Published

Good afternoon everyone. I am reaching out to potential students that are trying to get into the mtsac ADN program for fall 2020. I am applying with 76 points. Hoping it enough but we’ll see. I’ve applied before but unfortunately did not get in. Hope to hear from some of you.

Have any of you guys gotten your counselor appointments rescheduled? or spoken to one to review your applications? Wanted to know if I was the only one who hasn't.

None of us did Cindy. You are not the only one. I have a feeling they will start sending out emails in August.

OK Rita thank you! I know my guess is that they would treat this cycle of applications like if we had applied for Spring 2021. I had applied for Spring 2020 but I was number 2 on the alternate list and didn't get accepted. My guess if they do make us follow a similar route they'll call us for counseling in September and we won't know if we get accepted or alternates until November at least that's when I found out I was an alternate and could attend the the orientation. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

I was going to say exactly the same. It is clear that they would treat this application period as if it was for Spring 2021. I am pretty sure your chances are bigger of getting accepted this time, something tells me that. it's going to be less competitive because applicants are getting accepted elsewhere. Yea it's unfortunate we have to wait this long, but as long as we get it, that's all that matters. It will go by quickly.

Aww thank you Rita for saying that. I really hope that it won't be as competitive so fingers crossed we both make it this cycle and the others in the forum ?

There is another nursing forum that I somehow accidentally signed up for. And I read that almost everyone who got into different schools and started online, hate it and struggles with it. You just don't learning the same on internet, especially as a nurse. They even do their lab hours online. In my opinion it's better to wait a semester but have a full, balanced experience.

Hello everyone. Check your emails for the most recent update. Hope everyone is healthy and well.

Yes, I totally agree on your last post and hope that we'll be able to do in class lessons instead of online. Also thank you got the update Rita!

Hey there. I'm just curious, have you seen the new multi criteria screening for Mt. Sac nursing program beginning Jan 2021? If not, could you please take a look at it and let me know what you think ?

I've seen it. It seems it had increased the points for people with more experience in the health field or those with degrees and also those with prior military service. It doesn't show if you get points for the HESI, but on another page about the HESI,  it says that you must get at least a 70% and will add those points (9 being the highest) to your final score. If the application period will start back up in Jan, I will have 87 points.

Wow! So, you are safe then. Seems that I've applied just in time because with the new criteria I'd be 5 points down. Have you applied already?

No I haven't applied yet. Once they open it again I will. When did you apply?
