Mt sac nursing fall 2020

Published

Good afternoon everyone. I am reaching out to potential students that are trying to get into the mtsac ADN program for fall 2020. I am applying with 76 points. Hoping it enough but we’ll see. I’ve applied before but unfortunately did not get in. Hope to hear from some of you.

I got 89.2 and became very bitter and depressed, I felt like a failure and thought my nursing path at least for this semester is closed. But because of God's grace I was still chosen and if it is His will I will get in. Things definitely didn't go as planned, I had a B in micro, wasn't getting my letter and it seemed like everything was going against me. But as time has passed I am seeing that His will always overcomes no matter what. I don't know if you are a christian or not, but I just for some reason wanted to share my experience with you and whoever else might be struggling and losing their faith.

An 89.2 is really good. I know that you wanted a score of 90 to get those extra points. But hey you were still chosen. I am a Christian. I am a firm believer of the saying “ everything happens for a reason.” So we just have to keep pushing and not have anything stop us. And NEVER lose faith.

By the way, they did ask me to reschedule. My appointment is now on April 2nd. Did they ask you?

Thank you for all your kind words. I surely hope we will be classmates if God is willing. The lady on the phone told me to call back next week, but I guess I can call them tomorrow and see if they can reschedule me as well(:

Still a very good score! How many points do you have if you don't mind?

In the best case scenario I have 81. But I realized last week that for my "need to work" point, I submitted a paycheck with 0 dollars on it, though it did say 860 hours. I am trying to reach out to my former manager to write me the letter but if she refuses, I will be okay with it. I will not stress over one point, I will not stress at all anymore. By worrying we cannot change the outcome, it will only hurt our well-being.

Yeah do not stress over one point. If you are above 76/77 points, then you’re good.

I was able to reschedule my appt. to March 25th, but it'be over the phone. I will try to drop documents beforehand though and see if that works. But also they should have my official transcripts on file since I sent it to them when I applied to Mt. Sac. I don't at this point know how it's gonna be, just have to wait and see. The lady on the phone didn't have any answers either.

My appt was over the phone. The appt is just to verify that all of your transcripts are in order. If you have already sent your official transcripts from all schools then you won't need to bring or send anything in. If you do need to send official transcripts for any reason you would scan/fax them in. The instruction I was given was that I was not to come to campus for any reason. After they review your application they let you know that they will push it to the nursing dept & to keep an eye out for an email.

Thank you for your insight.

Hey, was it advised by the counseling department to open your official transcripts to scan/fax them? Because the nursing department advised to not do so, rather keep them closed until further instructions.

I have my appointment set for (03/24/20) but I don't know how I will be able to give my official transcripts to the counselor since they are not allowing students on campus.

Why don't you request the school you attended before to send your transcript to Mt. Sac electronically. That way admissions/records office will have it and the nursing dep. can always look it up as well since it is in their system.

Just got an email from the school. Looks like they are putting the nursing program on pause bc some of the hospitals are not allowing students to do their clinical hours right now due to the threat of COVID-19. This means that they will not be taking students again until Spring 2021. Of course this makes sense but this is so heartbreaking ?

I just read that email too. Let's now worry you guys, we can't change anything, however, they still might change things around - you never know.
