Mt Sac nursing fall 2017

Hi guys,

I submitted my application to Mt. Sac nursing program for the fall 2017 application period.

I have yet to see a thread on this particular application period for Mt. SAC so I hope many more join this thread. I'll be posting any updates on here, hopefully others will also contribute to their experience or updates on their process.

Hello all! I was hoping someone could answer this question.

Do I need to wait to take my HESI exam to submit my application? I have all my documentation ready to submit but there is a part of the exam that asks what my score is for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it till August 15 at Mt. Sac so I'm not sure if I have to wait till after to submit?

Yes, you have to wait for your HESI score to apply.

Hello everyone! I just went through my 1st semester and am going into the 2nd come August. I remember wanting to know what the program was like and what to expect just like I'm sure all of you are. Hey all!

I didn't attend any information sessions. Just wanted to clarify a rumor about the application process. Is it true that not only is it based on points but also time of submission? The application deadline is September 1st and I am scheduled for the HESI on August 17th. Just wondering if I will be out of the running for the period.

Mt sac admits strictly by points. As long as you do not miss the deadline to apply you will be considered based of of your points for the criteria.

Yes, applicants are also ranked by date and time of submission. When applicants have equal points, submission of application is used to determine who gets a higher spot on the list. I received this info directly from the nursing dept.

Then, I am at a disadvantage. Im taking the HESI on the last day available and if I score in the 90s that will give me 72 points. Sounds like im not getting in.

For the addition GE requirement, is it required to have the Physical Well-Being section completed before applying?

@sjs8789 . Congrats on finishing your 1st semester! I just sent my application in yesterday, I am going in with 88 points! I hope that'll be enough. There isn't much information online for what to expect when you get into the nursing program at Mt. Sac. In regards to the physical, I know we have to have certain immunizations but do we just have to show proof or do we have to do titer tests? What is the clinical schedule? Lastly, any advice on how to prepare before starting nursing school? Not that I am in yet but I am trying to have positive thoughts :-) !

Hi. I'm a high school student and I tried getting an appointment with a counselor but the wait was so long. I wanted to know if it was possible to get your general and still apply for the nursing program since it is based on a point system. I also wanted to ask how long your whole process took since you got out of high school till now. I got accepted to GCU but i wanted to stay local so if you have any advice for me please share i am so confused as to where to go! Thank you! :)

1. How long did it take you to get into the program?

2. How many points did you have prior to applying?

3. Would I be able to be getting my AA while doing the nursing program if I have enough points after a couple semesters?
