MSN Thesis Survey: Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction in Nurses

Published

This survey has been approved by the board of Allnurses.com for inclusion in this forum. It is part of a Capstone project for MSN in Education from Western Governor's University.

Retention of nurses at the bedside is a critical issue facing the healthcare industry, with job dissatisfaction being the primary cause cited by nurses who choose to leave direct patient care positions. This study will explore the relationship of nurse-patient ratios and unionization with nurses' job satisfaction. The Spector Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS) is being used in this survey with permission of Dr. Spector. This is a validated scale which has been used for decades to measure job satisfaction. There are a few demographic questions and the scale is measured by Likert-rated responses. Estimation of completion time is around 10 minutes or less.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this. Results will be shared here at Allnurses when the study is complete. The informed consent will appear prior to taking the survey. Please contact me for any questions.

If anyone reading this could take a few moments to complete the survey, I would really appreciate it. Especially interested in surveying nurses who belong to unions and nurses who work in environments where safe staffing ratios are mandated. Thank you !

How were you able to incorporate your informed consent into your surveymonkey survey?

Chrystal, I had to have a friend set this up on Survey Monkey for me, because I kept messing it up. Let me ask them how to do that and get back to you !

Thank you, Chare !

Great survey! I too am a WGU student and waiting for clearance to post my survey as well. Any students that have posted a survey, lets help each other out and if you meet the requirements for the survey, take some time to complete it. Your opinion matters. Let your voices be heard. Good luck to you!
