Hi! I am an MSN student in my final semester - doing my thesis on the Effects of Bullying, Harassment and Verbal Abuse in the healthcare workplace. Research proves that most of us have been the victims of this atrocious behavior. Please use the web link below to fill out the 15 question survey if you have ever been exposed to or have witnessed this behavior and the effects. The questions are open-end to obtain your feelings and best answers for the research. There is an informed consent for on the first page. The survey tool is all open-ended and does not address nurses who feel positive about interpersonal interactions in their workplace. And I'm not sure what useful information can be extrapolated from asking people to self-report psychosomatic symptoms and what medical diagnoses have been attached to these symptoms.

There is a great book on this topic, "When Nurses Hurt Nurses". Also, try to find the peer-reviewed journal articles of Drs Egues and Leinung. They have done interesting research on Lateral/Horizontal Violence in nursing. I know that they will also be presenting at a few conferences in the near future. They have a lot if interesting data.
