Night Shift Nursing Education & Effects on Job Satisfaction

Introduction:

You are invited to participate in a research project being conducted by a researcher from Western Governors University. Ms. Ehrig is conducting research to demonstrate a positive effect on nurse's job satisfaction by offering required coursework on evening and night shift hours.

Description of the project:

• The purpose for this research is to conduct required Annual Competency coursework during the normal working hours of the evening and night shift nurses, and to test for significance on job satisfaction.
  
• In the interest of improving job satisfaction and access to required coursework during one's normal working hours, attendees will be asked to fully participate in the educational process.
  
• The participants will complete a Job Satisfaction Survey and an Educational Access Questionnaire.
  

Benefits and Risks of this study: The benefit of this study will be to evaluate job satisfaction and test for significance when offering required education during one's normal working hours. There are no anticipated risks of participation.

Confidentiality: Participant's confidentiality will be maintained at all times. Responses will aggregated and not individually identifiable. Only the researcher will have access to participant's personal information. Responses are provided on a secure server, and confidentiality will be maintained. No specific facility demographics will be gathered.

Voluntary participation and withdrawal: Participation is voluntary, and may be withdrawn at any time. It is estimated that the questionnaire will take about 15 minutes to complete.
