MSMU ABSN Fall 2016

Haven't found a thread for fall 2016. I applied to MSMU ABSN, and took the basic math exam today! Unfortunately, I did not receive 100% on the exam. The proctor mentioned that only about 10% of the admitted cohort gets a perfect score, and the other 90% has to take the test again. Hoping this will not affect my chances for admittance too much. Was wondering how everyone else did.

Thread's been moved to our Student forums.

I applied as well to Fall 2016! I think the score is a very small factor in being admitted, thats what it seemed like when they were explaining it.

Hi! I applied to Fall 2016! I got 90%, 5 wrong, was pretty upset about it but still hope I have a shot of getting in. I was wondering if there is anyone else who still has any outstanding science pre reqs. I am still taking Micro, i hope it doesn't stop me from getting... I have all A's in my other sciences but i really feel like i might not get in because of micro. I wish you all luck and I am excited about the possibility of being in the Fall 2016 Cohort :) :)

I received a 100% but this was my second time taking the exam. I had applied for Summer 2016 as well. I received a 98% last time so I was determined to not miss any. I do not think it really counts much toward admission though since most people don't receive a 100%. Do you have a lot of patient care experience? That is my major concern. Now time to wait for an email for an interview! :) Good luck to both of you!

I think if you have any science in progress they look at your other science classes and since you have all A's I think you will be okay :) They look at the application as a whole is what the advisor kept saying

Sorry for the late reply. My notifications were being sent to my junk mail! I received a 92%, but I felt so confident after, that my score came as a shock. Like syns, I have science prerequisites in progress that worries me. Wow, LBrown, you did great BOTH times, congrats. May I ask, with such a good score the first time around, why do you think you weren't admitted for the summer cohort? Did you have classes in progress, or something of the sorts? Sorry if I'm being invasive.

I don't think the math score is a big factor in the admission decision, unless maybe you are on the border. I was retaking my microbiology class which I had a C in from freshman year. I had philosophy in progress as well. Other than that, when I spoke to admissions they said it was very competitive and too re apply. Since then I have gotten more patient care experience and volunteering. I don't mind sharing my experience at all! I ask others just as many questions :) Hopefully we will hear something soon!

Hi everyone!

Has anyone heard back about an interview?

I haven't received an email yet. Am I rememberin right, that interviews will be held mid-May? Or did they not specify when in May. Hope we hear something soon! The wait is agonizing!!

Not yet, the wait is killing me! I know interviews are supposed to be held in May, final decisions at the end of May.

Yeah, I remember them saying we should be getting an email within a couple weeks after the math test. The wait is very stressful!
