MSMU ABSN Fall 2016

Haven't found a thread for fall 2016. I applied to MSMU ABSN, and took the basic math exam today! Unfortunately, I did not receive 100% on the exam. The proctor mentioned that only about 10% of the admitted cohort gets a perfect score, and the other 90% has to take the test again. Hoping this will not affect my chances for admittance too much. Was wondering how everyone else did.

@Sun_moon: Definitely re-apply! I was even told in an interview that despite being a "strong candidate" that they simply didn't have enough spaces to take everyone they wanted and they aren't able to increase the number of spaces because they struggle to find clinical placements. Throughout the process I was told multiple times to not to give up and that many people have to apply multiple times. I would definitely recommend talking to Agasia in admissions about what you can do. It could be something as simple as re-writing your personal statement. Hopefully you start in the Spring!

So in shock. Got denied. Don't know if I should apply again.

I am a certified NA, volunteer at Cedar, my undergraduate GPA was not the greatest. My prerequisites are As and Bs.

Any advice would help.....

Yes! Reapply for the next cohort if you do not get anything else. I applied to the Summer cohort and got denied. I just got accepted for Fall. Call and ask what the problem was. For me it was a college denial as they did not accept the Anatomy course from CSUN. I just retook anatomy at ELAC and now I'm in. I also had A's and B's with a C in micro.

Don't give up!!

The deposit is due June 10th. No new info other than emails with details will go out late June.

I don't have any paid nursing experience, but have about a year and a half volunteer experience in the med-surg and orthopedic units of the hospital I was volunteering at.
