MSMC, Mount St. Mary's College Interview next week! What to expect?

I have an interview for the ADN program next week. They have all my documents, I've done the TEAS, what should I expect? What types of questions will they ask me? HELP! :idea:

You applied for the adn spring 2011 program? They're already sending out interviews? If you don't mind me asking what was your GPA, TEAS score, did you have any classes in progress? My friend just started the program this last semester. She loves it! The interview isn't supposed to be hard. They just ask questions why you want to be a nurse and about yourself. I'm taking the TEAS on Friday. Do I have ati send my scores to MSMC? Congrats on the interview!

Thank you! Yes I applied for spring 2011. I dont really like blabbing everything but Ill just say I have a great gpa and did decent on the teas. I do not have any classes in progress so I am a straight to nursing canidate. I had taken the teas in june at another school so I just went online and paid 22.00 for ati to release a e-transcript to MSMC.

That's so exciting! My friend said If you get the interview you're pretty much guaranteed a spot. I took the TEAS Monday night & passed but wasn't happy with my score in the science area so I'm retaking it Friday night. I'm so nervous because the science is so random. Did they contact you by phone or by mail for interview? You're going to do great! I'll ask my friend what they ask specifically & post back on here. :)

Thank you! Im excited and nervous! They actually called me to set up an interview date and time. Personally I would say if you passed, you passed. I didnt do great in the science section either but the counselor told me they really weigh your personal statement and gpa more than anything. So when I mentioned to her should I take the teas again just to please myself and score higher she said "why?" So I would say why waste the time and money?

Thanks for the advice. That makes me feel a little bit better. I want to get into this program so bad! My friend loves it there. She said it's def. Hard but so rewarding :) I ran out of time on the math area & had 6 questions left so I guessed. I got a 70% which is really low so I'm going to retake it because now I have an idea how they test. I have 2 classes in progress Philosophy & chemistry. Let me know how it goes next week. Stay calm & be yourself that's what's most important. Good luck!

My interviews were simple conversations that let the dean decide if I was a good fit with the other accepted stdents.

I had my interview this past Monday, and it only lasted 5 minutes and the person who interviewed me let me know I had already been accepted! I am struggling to decide between this program and the AccBSN at MSMC. Did anybody else already get in?

You got accepted into Spring 2011 ADN program at mount st mary's LA? I had my interview today. It went really well I think but wasn't accepted on the spot. who interviewed you? Do you have any classes in progress?

Yes, I have micro and lifespan psych in progress. A faculty member of the nursing department interviewed me. I believe he teaches theory and fundamental courses for the AccBSN program.

If you don't mind me asking what's your gpa & what did you get on the TEAS? Are you going to go in the spring or apply for accelerated?

My overall GPA is a 3.47. I have a bachelors of science in health science, and my TEAS was an 87.3. I haven't decided to accept or decline yet, ideally I would prefer their accelerated bachelors program but at this point I really want to get going with my nursing education so I may just accept and begin in January. Hopefully you'll hear from the admissions office soon! My webadvisor still says review--in process but the person that interviewed me said a packet should come in the mail soon
