For applicants to the Mount St Mary's AccBSN program for Fall 2014.
Who else out there applied? Starting a thread for this cohort. Post anything relevant, thanks!
I'm anxiously waiting to hear anything back from the school other than the fact that my application is in review.
Thanks for all the feedback :) It's nice to know that I'm not the only one suffering!! In the case that you are denied from the program, an admissions counselor can advise you on what particular factors in your application could have contributed to the denial. For instance, too many outstanding pre-reqs, a weak letter of intent, not high enough of a G.P.A. I was disappointed to have to apply again but hey, its only a 6 month set back rather than a full year so its truly not that depressing. I think everyone is stressing out a little too much over the basic math exam... If you're smart enough to pass Chemistry, Physiology and Microbiology (to name a few) then you will have no problem passing this basic exam with 100% after some tutoring which the college will provide. The admissions committee maybe just wants to see that you're in a 'ballpark' range which signifies your ability to pass with 100%. @joseesoj9 could you please shed some light on this? :) For those of you applying with outstanding pre-reqs, my advice to you (based on my own experience) would be to have your professors email your admissions counselor your current grade in the course. I'm assuming most of you who are taking outstanding courses are almost done, considering it's May, therefore the admissions committee should take into account that your grade now will look very similar to your final grade. It looks like we should be hearing something soon regarding an interview so everyone just hang in there!!
Hey everyone,
i have an update for you, which may be good or bad. I went ahead and called admissions to ask about interviews because I'm in a bit of pickle in terms of schools so she said that interview requests will be sent out starting next week and they will go out till the first week of June. So yea it's a bummer bc it feels like such a long wait, but I hope this information will ease some of the anxiety this week and hopefully you won't check the site and portal every 5 minutes lol
Hi everyone I also applied for fall 2014 . I was hoping someone could answer a question I have ...I noticed some of you are checking the portal frequently so I was wondering if we are notified about interviews through the portal or through email. And if it's through email I was wondering why people are checking the portal a lot if we can't get accepted without an interview first... I was getting worried if there's another reason that I should be checking for too .Thanks and good luck to all of us ! :)
Hello! I received an e-mail from them 2 days ago about being patient and that if we are invited to interview it will be end of May-First week in June. Anyone else get that? I don't know why they are waiting last minute to send interview invites, makes me anxious! I freaked when I read it because I'm actually going to be across the country during that time but I was reassured by the office that they do make arrangements if for some reason you can't make it to your interview time. I sincerely hope I get an interview, but I guess like us all it's just about patience!

combi: I just started on Monday (Summer 2014 Cohort) and I totally know what you are going through. If I recall correctly, I interviewed early February, and acceptance letters were sent out at the beginning of March.
Good luck getting in and if you need anything please LMK.
