Hi there, I don't know if I will be able to help you with your situation, but my experience was SLIGHTLY similar. I went to UCLA and also had a really hard time (although I did not attend UCLA for nursing school). I went in as a biology major (couldn't pull good grades) and ended up as an environmental studies major. Now I am in an accelerated nursing program. Looking back, I wish I had just gone into nursing because I would have saved a lot of money and my first degree is sort of a whatever degree. However, I will say that I learned a lot from my experience at UCLA so I don't necessarily regret it and it was a great experience. If nursing is your ultimate goal, then why spend another 3 years working towards a bachelors degree. How happy are you right now at UW, are you depressed? sad? If you are extremely unhappy at UW that is also something to take into consideration. I think you should skip the ADN and get your bachelors is nursing as many nursing jobs require a BSN. I'm sure you are in a very difficult place right now, but I encourage you to assess your options..talk to advisors on campus and your family. Whatever happens, everything will work out one way or another. Best of luck!

Congratulations everyone! I am so happy for you all! You are all wonderful and will be fantastic nurses :) I unfortunately did not get in or even receive an interview but that's okay because I was accepted to other programs and will be moving to DC to attend George Washington University. I will miss cali though-it's my home! I just wanted to post "stats" for prospective students. I too was obsessing over this when researching ABSN programs. So here is a profile for a candidate who was not accepted to the program. 3.65 bachelors in environmental/Geo studies from UCLA missed 3 on my math test Volunteered at the hospital for 3 years and junior blind of America for one year (worked with children with disabilities) A's in all my pre-reqs (although at the time of application I had Micro and Physio in progress, also I submitted my final grades a week before they started interviews) and If accepted I was planning on taking ethics and philosophy during the summer Hope this is helpful for those looking to apply in summer.. Once again, congrats MSMC Fall 2014 cohort!

Did anyone receive their welcome packet? If so, were you offered a scholarship? I'm just wondering if this is offered to everyone because they did not state why the scholarship was being offered so I assume it is offered to everyone, but wanted to double check. Thanks!

This is the most frustrating experience ever! We haven't even heard about interviews yet so I feel like decisions won't go out until the end of June! That's less than 2 months from when the program starts! Is anyone having to put down deposits for other schools because MSMC is taking too long?

It's pure torture to be quite honest... it just feels like a never ending wait!

I personally don't think they have sent out interview invites because it doesn't seem like anyone on this forum has heard anything and I think at least one person would have heard something by now

It's through email. People are checking their portal bc (at least for me) I've read that they have denied ppl and it shows up in the portal. People are checking their emails frequently bc they are hoping for the magical interview invitation!

Hey everyone, i have an update for you, which may be good or bad. I went ahead and called admissions to ask about interviews because I'm in a bit of pickle in terms of schools so she said that interview requests will be sent out starting next week and they will go out till the first week of June. So yea it's a bummer bc it feels like such a long wait, but I hope this information will ease some of the anxiety this week and hopefully you won't check the site and portal every 5 minutes lol

Hey there, I graduated from UCLA in 2013 and took all of my pre-requisites at SMC. I was VERY lucky to have gotten into many classes because I did not have priority at SMC. I was not able to get into a microbiology class at SMC so I took it at West LA, which is also a good option. I would recommend SMC if you can get into their classes, but it can be difficult to get into classes! Try West LA and other schools in LACCD too. Good luck.

Hey jackandpenny! I emailed you know who (we are not allowed to name names on here) and she said she was going to send them out this afternoon and of course she hasn't lol. But yes, I had the same concern... I wish she didn't say when she was going to send our scores because I have been checking my email like crazy and obviously they were not sent to us when we were told they were going to be. I have a feeling we won't get them today because its late afternoon now.
