  1. Hi! So I'm a sophomore at the UW and have not been doing well. There is no way I will get into the nursing program with my grades, and I have found myself wishing that I could go into the SCCC nursing program where I could buckle down and focus. The thing is, I could stay at the UW and get a small degree in something like public health or something not competitive, and THEN try to go for nursing. I just wish that I could go now and start working in two years after getting my degree. My questions: Since I have already completed one year and almost one quarter at the UW, will this reflect very negatively on my chances of finding a job? Will I even be able to find a job with only an associates degree in nursing? Should I just transfer into another four year college and try harder in a new setting? What would be the wisest thing to do? I don't want to get into even more debt and not do well at the UW, but I know that not a lot of people get the chance to be here and I should just suck it up. I am not dumb or unable to do the schoolwork, I have a very high ability to do what is required, but there have been too many things that have affected me (Personal life stuff). What does everyone here recommend?
