Hi everybody! I'm new to the site and just wanted to jump in and say hello! I got accepted into the nursing program at Macon State college here in GA and I start in about 4 days now. I am nervous, scared, excited all rolled together. Just wondering if there are any MSC nsg students on here or any recent graduates from the program? Good luck to everyone entering the program this Fall and all of you taking pre-reqs! I would love to hear from anyone that's going through nursing school or that has just finished up. :redbeathe
i had a really good teacher and makes things easier to understand. she is also really understanding and will help you out if you're having a hard time. i don't have any basis for comparison because msc is the only place that i've taken micro, but i have heard so many say that all the sciences are harder at msc. i didn't think that the class was that difficult. you do have to study and read through the material, but that's how its gonna be with any class if you want a good grade. good luck!
Well, I actually teach Pre-K and even though I love my kids, they STRESS me out. I just don't think I have all the patience needed to teach 20 4 yr old anymore. I also have a 1 yr old and eventually really want a job that I can do part time. I do get great hrs with teaching but that is slowly going out the door...summers getting shorter, etc. I use to work in a doctor's office and really enjoyed helping out the nurses. I applied to the MSC Jan. program. I still havent heard anything though.
the bsn program takes 4 classes each semester whereas the asn is only taking 2 per semester. if you can handle the work load, you should definately apply for both programs. i was advised to apply for both, but i knew i couldn't handle all the work with 2 kids and i'm gonna have to find a job pretty soon too. ugamommy, if you haven't heard anything yet there is a really good chance that you got accepted. i'm not saying its a 100% certainty, but a good chance. the acceptance letters take longer to be sent out because they contain so many papers, whereas the rejection letters only have one piece of paper and those come out pretty quickly. when i applied for spring admission, i got the acceptance letter right around fall break and that's going on this week so maybe you'll hear something soon. i decided to turn it down and go for fall since i have kids (that are in school) and would have summers off. good luck!
Thanks GaNsgStudent, I hope so. I am currently a teacher so I am needing to find out and tell my school my plan :/ I have an 18 month old and I am nervous about school with her at home. I aslo wonder when I can have another??? I know it would be so difficult being pregnant while in school. Waiting 2-3 yrs seems awhile though One day at time I guess.
Odumgm, I got my study guide from the ATI website. I took the NET at Middle GA College about 4 yrs ago. It is a lot easier than the TEAS. The TEAS covers science, grammer, reading, math. The NET was just reading and math. However, I was younger then and didn't study much...or have a lot of confidence in myself smarts wise) so I didn't do that well on the NET. Good luck :)
Hi!!!
I'm new to this site but have been reading a lot of threads. I am going to take the TEAS test on Friday and feel I am pretty prepared for it. I was wondering what scores those of you who have been accepted to Macon State ASN program got on your TEAS as well as you gpa. I believe they get your gpa based only on the required pre-reqs.. I have about a 3.3 which isn't that great but I will have all of my pre- reqs done before entering. Any advice would be great!! I'm just really nervous and want to get accepted soo badly!!
Thank you!!:redbeathe

Is Micro hard at MSC? Which teacher to take and which micro teacher to stay away from. I'm excited because I only have to take Micro in the spring. I have a 3.5 GPA. I have high hopes of being apart on the Fall '10 nurses.
