I'm currently in nursing school in Sc and moving to GA as soon as I finish. From my understanding w/e state you take your boards in...to transfer to another state that all you have to do is get endorsed by w/e state you desire moving to. I'm not really knowledgeable about this but from what I've read that's what I see.
Hi!!How difficult is it to practice nursing in a different state? If you pass the NCLEX can u practice anywhere? Can u move from state to state, or do you have to pass state boards. I don't know where i will be going to nursing school, but i want to eventually return to the west coast somewhere. What do I need to know about this?
once passed NCLEX and have registered with a state BON I believe all you have to do is register with the BON of where you want to move and endorse your license.
That is what has been explained to me and I have endorsed from NY to AZ with no problems
You only have to take the NCLEX examination once, and a passing result is acceptable in all states.
I recently moved from California to Texas. I completed my California nursing program on October 14, received my ATT on November 21, took NCLEX on December 28, and received my passing results in the mail on January 9. I received my California license on January 20.
I then mailed my endorsement application, complete with money and fingerprint cards, to the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. I received a temporary Texas license on February 2 while they processed my application, and finally received my permanent Texas license on March 7.
