If you don't write the NCLEX, you can not get a lisence in any state that requires it through reciprocity. I found the fastest way to get permission to write the NCLEX and register was to go through Minnesota (took a few weeks). Then transfer your Minnesota lisence to NY. There is no way to get around writing the NCLEX if you want to practice there.

Minnesota or New Hampshire are the quickest routes to getting your NCLEX - all the information, forms and costs can be downloaded from either of thier State Board websites. I had a friend who wrote her NCLEX in October '03 and had license in to get her Visa Jan. 5 '04. Takes about 4 weeks to get your permission from the State to sit the exam.

A recruiter will not be able to help you get things done any faster than you can do them yourself.

I believe that there is a new "law" that will come into effect in Sept. '04 that will require all States to become "NCLEX States" and while there will be reciprocity between certain states, there will no longer be reciprocity for those that have passed the CNAT.

Good Luck!

Are you still looking for help to move to the US?
