Moving to Texas from WV -- what license?

Published

I'm writing for my mother. She is an RN BSN and took the Original Nursing Exam in 1969 in West Virginia and has always practiced there. She now wants to move to Texas which does not have a licensing compact with West Virginia for reciprocity. What does she need to do to be licensed to practice nursing in Texas? She's hoping she doesn't have to take any new exams.

P.S. I'm not a nurse so all technical writing in this post is purely my misunderstanding.

Every state has a state board of nursing. She needs to contact the Texas State Board of Nursing to get the exact details on how to apply for her nursing licensure in that state.

Yeah, I figured that. I guess none of this information is online?
