I am an RN relocating to Nova Scotia from Ontario and am currently in the process of obtaining my nursing license in NS. I wrote the CRNE previously and was successful and am just wondering if anyone knows if licensing bodies are now requiring registrants to write the NCLEX if they have not previously done so, but are a RN in another province?

Congratulations on your move! No, you don't have to write the NCLEX to change provinces. You're already registered in Canada so it's just a matter of submitting all the required documentation and waiting for your CRNNS registration. I believe the Colleges are working toward some sort of compact that makes it much easier to move between provinces, but I suspect that will take several more years to work through.

Welcome, CRNNS are pretty good and quick to answer any questions you want to ask. As mentioned you shouldn't have to sit NCLEX having passed CRNE. Fees are due by end of Oct so you should only have to pay a partial fee if your application is completed before then
