  1. Hello, I recently went through this process myself, relocating from Ontario to NS. I would agree with above about starting the process early as sometimes the paperwork takes a while to go through, and would estimate 6 weeks as well. I would also recommend applying online while you are in the process of getting your license before you even get to AB, it is good to start learning about the facilities and get your name out there. Some employers are even willing to do a phone interview or schedule an interview when you arrive ( if it is closer to the date). I was actually hired for a position over the phone from ON and had job and a licence waiting when I arrived in the new province. Good Luck!
  2. I am an RN relocating to Nova Scotia from Ontario and am currently in the process of obtaining my nursing license in NS. I wrote the CRNE previously and was successful and am just wondering if anyone knows if licensing bodies are now requiring registrants to write the NCLEX if they have not previously done so, but are a RN in another province?
  3. Hello, I am a new grad living in Toronto and have been having a tough time finding a job. I know it is a tough time for landing a job as a new grad RN, but was wondering if anyone has any tips as far as other avenues of applying or other areas. I have mainly been applying to hospitals but have also applied to positions on Charity Village, Indeed, Workopolis, etc. I have a pretty decent resume as I have been working in home care/ retirement homes for 7 years now and have had some pretty great summer jobs as a camp nurse, etc. If there are any new grads who have recently (in the past year) found a position and have any tips or current RN's in the GTA that would be great! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
