Know nothing about Arizona; just wanted to comment on your complete lack of punctuation. If your applications look anything like your post, you might want to brush up on that aspect of written English. I'm hoping you were just posting from a tablet and are just used to shortcuts.....

There is at this time a more than two year waiting period for the RN programs at the Community Colleges in Phoenix. After you complete the list of pre and co required courses you can apply to get on that list.Right now the market is saturated with New Grads and everywhere is BSN required, especially if you want to get into the Hospitals. There are also numerous University BSN programs that admit RN students and those who have also partnered with the Community Colleges. They have their own pre and co required courses and are more competitive to get into.Additionally, there are also the for profit programs that run up over 40k-60k for an Associates Degree with no wait, yet again the job market is pretty tight so coming out of those programs with a job is rare.

I know my employer doesn't require a BSN. Did you mean all the hospitals require that? There are plenty of places to work as a nurse that are not hospitals.

All hospitals that I know of in the Phoenix area will only hire BSNs. Might luck into a hospital job IF you really know someone and are already enrolled in a BSN program. I've actually seen hospitals refuse to hire there own CNAs that have a proven track record on the floor, after they finish their RN degree.

I used to work at a hospital as a nursing assistant but continued in that capacity even after getting my LPN license They don't hire nurses unless they are RNs with BSNs - period. Even if you already work there. I am now working as an LPN at a SNF while in a LPN to BSN program at U of Phoenix

Programs are not hard to get in to. They are meticulous about who they accept. Go to the info sessions, carry a 4.0 on the courses considered for your gpa, and jump through the rest of the hoops and you're in.

Ok so they are hard to get in to. But it's not changing anytime soon so either you do it or you go on a long wait list.

Sorry the news isn't more positive. It actually gets worse once you graduate with a BSN and start looking for a job
