Moving to Palo Alto, CA

Published

Hi Guys,

My bestfriend is moving to Palo Alto and looking for housing. Can you guys please give me some recommendations for safe, affordable housing?

Thanks you guys a million!

evenings to me is the reject shift if you have to do 8 hours.

Cant date anyone who isnt a nurse, pay isnt as high, by the time you get out only bars are open and no food, and it can be the busiest part of the day(depending on the floor).

12 hours all the way.

HMB seemed kind of boring other than the beach, I liked gilroy/marina area for sure.

ah ha. learned something new: evenings vs nights. definitely referring to nights!

so much to learn... :dummy1:

Check out this map for crime and commuting: Trulia Local (can't post link); Search Palo Alto and then click the appropriate tab.

Craigslist is your best friend; Neighborhoods vary widely, so make sure you go drive around them and are comfortable with them.

The biggest issue is finding a place that will not have a horrendous commute, so check out the map above as well.

I know a few people looking for housing who are starting the new grad program in September. PM me if your friend would like the details.

Also keep in mind that Stanford gives free Caltrain passes to employees, so that is another option.

Hi, my name is Engrid. I am the one moving to Palo Alto. My housing budget $2500/mo. for 1BR/Bath or 2BR/1Ba. Preferred downstairs apartment.

Thanks so much! I will definitely check out Zillow!

Thanks so much! I will look within 20-25 miles away.

2500 for a 1br is the lower end and if you are lucky.
