Hi,
I am from Arizona and the wait-list here is two and a half years. Upon research and reading threads, it seems that schools in New York either accept or deny students. Are there any schools that guarantee acceptance with a shorter wait list?

it depends whether you are doing ASN or BSN, alot of the city CUNY schools have waitlists especially the community colleges, if you want fast acceptance your best shot is a private school
Thank You so much. Im planning on doing my BSN and am willing to wait a year. This way I can get my NY residency and lower tuition costs.

Yes, some of the community colleges have long waiting lists. Hunter has an excellent program but entrance is super competitive and there is a wait list of over a year. But you could always start your pre-requisites and then try for either a community or private.
I got into NYU which was my first choice but sometimes I surely regret the hefty price tag!
Good luck!
