Moving to New York need some advice please!

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi all,

I am originally from New York and moved to South Florida 6 years ago. About 3 years ago I went back to school and I will be graduating with my ASN in May 2015.

After I graduate I will be moving back to New York out east on Long Island.

My questions are:

Should I test for the boards here in Florida or in New York. Also, I am interested in either Hospice or Long Term Care. Will it be hard for me to find a job as a new grad? What is the best way to get a job as a new grad? Are there websites to apply to or just send resumes to facilities?

I would appreciate any advice I can get.

Thank you so much in advance!

I would say to stay in florida. I just moved here to finish a BSN and so I am looking for part time so maybe that makes it harder but I have been looking for 2 months and haven't found anything. I have gone more some interviews at drs offices but they wanted full time mostly. The hospitals I never hear from because I only have my ASN and even the nursing homes or impossible to find. I don't know what is with this economy but as soon as I finish my BSN I'm moving back to jersey.
