Wife really wanting to move back to Michigan to be with her family. We are looking at moving in about 2 years.
I currently work med/surg at a Florida university affiliated 1700 bed hospital and really like the energy of the the hospital, benefits, budget, level of acuity, etc.
My current hospital is Magnet certified, and I think that's a good thing...
I would appreciate your thoughts on these places below, and the living areas around them. My wife would prefer not to live in a city or crowded area. So good bang for the buck house/land area is a plus. Thanks :)
This is what my Google search turned up for biggest Mi hospitals:
#1. University of Michigan Hospital. Ann Arbor, MI.
I now have my BSN, and JUST sent my ink finger prints to Michigan! The ball is rolling faster! I sent an email to theUM nursing recruiter, who was super friendly and helpful- but on the website, they dont have any AA cmapus nursing jobs posted! Yikes. Ill try back in a few days in case they were in the middle of an update.

I havent completely ruled out another hospital, but my wife thinks I would like AA bc she thinks it's most like Gainesville (FL).

Ann Arbor is amazing. UM hospital is amazing. There is another big hospital right outside AA, Saint Joseph Mercy. Some people rather go there than UM to avoid residents. Also try there. The big VA hospital is right next to UM hospital. So you have three hospitals within 5 miles of each other. Good luck!
they have a job fair coming up soon so many may be posted just before or during that time, watch the site daily, I know several of the adult units are using CSR on a regular basis so they may be ready to start hiring again. I live about an hour SE and the commute isn't awful and way more bang for your buck house wise and lots of country areas with decent schools. I left FL 5 yrs ago for a position in the Peds ER and love it here, I grew up here so for me it was a move home.
PS - Nole Nation! lol (you should have seen the looks I got sporting my FSU gear after the game haha!!)
