Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum, so please forgive me if I should have posted this question elsewhere.
I currently live in Maryland and will be finishing up the LPN program this summer. My move is going to take place right when I finish this program, and I am not sure where to look for requirements to take the NCLEX exam and even if I can take it in Colorado since I went to school in Maryland. I am also interested in learning of some bridge programs to RN. I will be living in the Parker area. I have read about the long waiting lists for RN programs, so I'm guessing I can work as an LPN while on a waiting list RN and take classes toward my BSN. However, I am not sure about getting licensed there.
As well, I am curious if anyone knows where I can see a list of required classes and clinical times before I can sit for the NCLEX in Colorado. I would like to compare it to what I already have.
Thank you so much,
~R
Hi.. it's me replying to my own post...lol. I finally spoke with someone at the Colorado Board of Nursing and there are no problems with me taking my LPN NCLEX in Colorado like I had been told. I also spoke with the Denver School of Nursing today. It looks like I will be trying to go there starting in October. It all depends on if I can finish up here and take my exam before the October start date.
Thanks!

I'm glad to hear you found the info you needed. Good luck with the rest of your LPN courses and the impending move :) I hope the transition goes smoothly, most of the people here have really good things to say about Denver School of Nursing.

Thank you so much! I'm pretty excited. I've been kinda discouraged with all the things I've read about unhappy nurses in Colorado, but I'm keeping an open mind.
As far as the Denver School of Nursing, it will all depend on when my darn summer class is finished and I take the NCLEX-PN exam and hopefully pass it, because they won't accept but 30% of transfer classes and I'd have to retake what I've already taken. However, if I have my LPN license when I apply it will be a package deal. It seems as though the curriculum is pretty tough there, but the way I see it.... only one more year then I can take a little break before going on for my BSN.
Thanks again for your kind words :nuke:

Best of luck and enjoy Colorado when you get here! Don't let the negativity get you down, sure there are lots of people upset with the healthcare system in Colorado, but I also know a lot of happy nurses. :)
I hope your move and transition goes wonderfully!

Hey there, I am going to the Denver School of Nuring this July to take the BSN programand I have heard really good things about it. They do have a One year bridge program and I think it only like 13,000 for the program not bad. Anyway, good luck on your move.
