  1. Hi everyone! Just wanted to say that this trick worked for me and my friend as well. We both took it Wednesday and as soon as we got home tried the trick and it wouldn't let us get to the credit card information. We both found out this morning that we passed!!
  2. I currently attend DSN and will be starting my final quarter next month. I think the school is a good school and I find the faculty helpful. I also think it's all in the way we present ourselves. If someone has a negative experience anywhere and are quick to blame others, it's a possibility that someone brought it on him/herself. As well, as far as getting a job, I think it has a lot to do on how professional we are during the interview and what kind of work we are willing to do. As new graduate nurses, I believe we have to be open about shifts and what area of nursing we start in. We are not going to have jobs handed over to us on a silver platter when we graduate. Good luck to everyone starting DSN or considering DSN. It's a good school and has a lot of goals for the future. ~R
  3. I live in Parker and am going to DSN in July. I want to take the light rail, but I have no clue of the routes. Does anyone know which one I take and where it drops me by the DSN?? Guess I should take a couple practice runs as well!!! Smiles! Raynebo
  4. Bridgfor428 ~ Thank you so very much for taking your precious time to type up all that info. Kinda stressed thinking about the long clinical days, but then again that's what we will be doing when we are RNs anyway :-) Do you have full day classes on the days you're not in clinical? In my LPN program we had pretty long clinical days too, but only 2 days of classes for about 3 hours each. I was reading somewhere that classes run from like 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. Thanks tons! ~R
  5. I guess I was just basically curious what the schedule is like, how are the instructors, what is the overall feeling when you go to classes? How many times a week are there clinicals and are they all 12-hours? I am new to the area and know nothing about Denver or the nursing schools, except that there is a ridiculous waiting list at the community colleges!! My interview appointment at DSON was rescheduled for Friday morning and I will be asking those questions as well. I'd be more than happy to share what I learn if anyone is interested. Thank you, ~R
  6. I am also interested in how its going from current students. I just got off the phone with DSON and have an appointment tomorrow to drop off my application for the January class. I finally decided to go this route instead of the LPN to BSN program through UOP. I guess the important thing is to earn the RN and then work toward the BSN since I have had no luck finding a position for a new grad LPN :-( Thanks, ~R
  7. My exam is scheduled for tomorrow, 9/29. I'm becoming pretty uptight about it and don't feel like I know much anymore. Im going to work on questions throughout today, but then plan on going to bed early after a nice relaxing bath. Everyone who already took it this month...congratulations!! Everyone who still has to take it... you're in my thoughts and prayers. Smiles! ~Raynebo~
  8. Thanks for the response :-) I plan to go to school the traditional way because I'm a much better classroom learner. I am really leaning toward going to Phoenix with the LPN-BSN program and just work as an LPN while in school. I tend to get impatient about things, but I think if I go the Denver School of Nursing route for my quick RN...I may not want to go back and pay all that extra money for my BSN. I just don't know!! I also didn't even consider how tuition keeps going up every year!! Are you in an LPN to BSN program now? Good luck and congratulations to you too!! ~R
  9. Good morning everyone! I've only posted a couple times and am not very familiar with this board, so please forgive me if I posted this message in the wrong place. I just moved to Colorado and am waiting to take my NCLEX for LPN. I am torn between going to the Denver School of Nursing for my ADN or just go to the LPN-BSN program through University of Phoenix. If I go the DSON route, I will start Jan 08 and graduate Dec 08 with my RN, ADN with a cost of about $16,000. If I go the UOP route, I have a couple classes to take while getting my 6 months experience as an LPN before starting the nursing classes, so about 2-1/2 years and about $22,500 for my BSN. Ultimately I'd like to earn my BSN so later on I can go for my MSN, so I'm leaning toward UOP. But, I just can't figure out what is the best choice! I also wondered about going to the DSON for my ADN and then later working on my BSN. Just totally confused and getting on my own nerves because I just can't seem to make a decision!!!! Any words of wisdom for me??? Thanks bunches! Raynebo
  10. Thank you so much! I'm pretty excited. I've been kinda discouraged with all the things I've read about unhappy nurses in Colorado, but I'm keeping an open mind. As far as the Denver School of Nursing, it will all depend on when my darn summer class is finished and I take the NCLEX-PN exam and hopefully pass it, because they won't accept but 30% of transfer classes and I'd have to retake what I've already taken. However, if I have my LPN license when I apply it will be a package deal. It seems as though the curriculum is pretty tough there, but the way I see it.... only one more year then I can take a little break before going on for my BSN. Thanks again for your kind words :nuke: ~R
  11. Hi.. it's me replying to my own post...lol. I finally spoke with someone at the Colorado Board of Nursing and there are no problems with me taking my LPN NCLEX in Colorado like I had been told. I also spoke with the Denver School of Nursing today. It looks like I will be trying to go there starting in October. It all depends on if I can finish up here and take my exam before the October start date. Thanks! ~R
  12. Hello everyone, This is my first post on this forum, so please forgive me if I should have posted this question elsewhere. I currently live in Maryland and will be finishing up the LPN program this summer. My move is going to take place right when I finish this program, and I am not sure where to look for requirements to take the NCLEX exam and even if I can take it in Colorado since I went to school in Maryland. I am also interested in learning of some bridge programs to RN. I will be living in the Parker area. I have read about the long waiting lists for RN programs, so I'm guessing I can work as an LPN while on a waiting list RN and take classes toward my BSN. However, I am not sure about getting licensed there. As well, I am curious if anyone knows where I can see a list of required classes and clinical times before I can sit for the NCLEX in Colorado. I would like to compare it to what I already have. Thank you so much, ~R
