Mountain View Spring 2020 application.

Published

Hello everyone I am just starting a thread to see if anyone else plans on applying to Mountain View in the fall for spring 2020. Or anyone who goes there how many points should I strive for to get into the programs. Hope to hear from y’all.

75 called for an interview with 50 slots available. Anyone called in for an interview has a good chance of getting in. My assessment by going through last year's postings: 5-10 people who are called in for an interview and ultimately accepted into the program will reject and opt to attend another college because Mountian View isn't their first or even second choice. At this point, unless you go nuts during the interview, the probability of getting in is approaching 90%. My research-based assumption is that they will accept 50 people and put 10 people on a waiting list, and then accept probably 7 out of the 10 to fill the spots not filled by those who got accepted but opted out to go different program. Please share with the rest of the team your thoughts after you had your interview. Mine is Oct. 1 and will collect and post a detailed intel on ways to ace the interview for those who have their interview appointments after Oct. 1. Congrats to you all who've made to this point, and good luck to those who'll attempt next semester.

Interesting points here Ozzy!

Anyone doing interview today ?

How did the interviews go for those who took today ?

As I promised, here's my experience at the interview. I'll give you tips without compromising the integrity of the process. First, get there earlier than scheduled, I went there an hour early in case I ended up with a flat tire, etc. Second, dress as you would for an important job interview--I was surprised to see a few individuals with attire I won't wear for presentation for a class, one person didn't Iran their pants. You can't get this one wrong, it's free points. Third, relax--this interview is chill. This interview was the easiest one I've ever had, but stay focused and be direct, succinct, and to the point. Be original and creative, don't copy what has been said before---it's boring!

The written portion is a freestyle essay format. You'll have 30 mins to complete to answer about 3 questions: why you want to be a nurse? What will you contribute to the nursing profession? These were my questions and I'm assuming you'll get other questions, so don't rely on mine, and these questions are simple questions and should be very natural to answer since you've been working hard to become a nurse for a while now.

The verbal portion of the interview has very similar questions, so no worries you'll do great--this interview is low stress, straightforward and no-nonsense. Best of luck--you'll do great!

Thank you Ozzy .mine is Thursday at 3pm .fingers crossed we all get in

Thanks Ozzy and Success Driven for your interview insight. I have mines 10/8 and I hope I do great. Was the interview a one to one or a group interview? On a past forum I read that it was a group interview?

Mine was three program instructors and me. One would ask the questions, others would take notes for later use. My guess is, the notes are for grading rubric of the interview as one would for grading a presentation in a speech class, etc. Hope this helps!
