Mount St. Mary's Fall 2014 ADN

Hi, did anyone get their acceptance letters or interviews already for msmc?

Hey girls I just finish pre nursing in one year at MSMC and am so excited to be one of the few who got accepted into BSN program :-) if you have any questions about program I would be happy to answer them for you. I remember being frustrated because there was very little help when I was trying to get in program so I know what you ladies are going through.

Thank you savvyme. I just need to do chemistry and the religion class can I take both of those the same semester?

Are you going into bsn or adn babe?

Thank you so much for offering your help. How many courses did you complete during your first year as a pre-nursing student? :)

If you are part of BSN then the class is called scientific concepts and it is 1/2 chemistry and 1/2 physics in one. It tough but one of my favorite classes I have taken. I can give you recommendations for good teachers. You do not take religion as a freshman which is what you are considered your year of pre nursing. Another thing I should clarify is pre nursing can be done in one or 2 years. I did it in one but they let you do it in 2 and become a "5 year" (you will hear this term a lot once you are in) so keep that in mind. It is TOUGH to do it in 4. Especially since it involved 2 hard sciences + labs for each of those sciences each semester on top of your other classes. So that is 4 sciences per semester plus all other classes. It's possible... I did it but a lot of people opt to become 5 year to give them a better chance of getting in. Good luck and hope that helped!

Will it be difficult if I only have to complete the sciences, along with philosophy and the religion course? I really don't want to be there the two years!

You won't take religion until you are in nursing program officially. You don't need to worry about that until you are done with pre nursing. Here are pre nursing courses :

English 1a

English 1b

Speech

Psychology

Sociology

Scientific concepts (chem and physics)

Anatomy (fall)

Anatomy lab

Physiology (spring)

Physiology lab

Microbiology (fall or spring..Depending what trAck you are on this will be opposite of scientific

concepts)

Intro to college (only if you have fewer than I think 25 units before entering the school. I didn't have to take this so I am not sure exactly)

Oh and microbiology lab

Thank you so much for the outline of the courses. It gives me a better understanding, of my current standing! :)

Are you all aware of msmc accreditation?

I'm not sure but I have friends who graduated from the mount and are currently attending Cal state Fullerton working on their BSN so it's looks transferable

MSMC is accredited by WASC! Why did you hear something about it?
