I received an interview for this school!

I am really nervous about the interview:heartbeat

anybody applying to program let's share some informations!!

anybody know anything about msmc interview process and

did anyone take the upper division bioethics class that they semi require for the admission?

where did you take the class?

thanks

any other questions and comments are welcome

I've got my interview scheduled for next week!

I read on an older link that if you are accepted to the program you have to take a math test...does anyone know what the test consists of?

Jennifer

Still haven't heard; :( I know they are still sending interviews so I am just trying to stay calm and not check my email every five seconds...how are all those who have still not gotten an interview request handling this?

To those who have had the interview: what types of questions do they ask?

thank you so very much

I received my interview invitation on 12/5, interview scheduled for the 15th. I admit I was a little nervous when I heard that invitations had gone out starting in Nov. I started running these scenarios through my head trying to figure out what protocol they use in terms of who gets an invitation and when. At first it was the best candidates bat first so to speak, then the next tier, and so on. I figured I was over-analyzing and dropped it.

Hope everyone gets an interview and I hope I'm lucky enough to join some of you next May. While I'm at it, I better win the lottery soon too :p

I got an email to call for an interview.. As I live in northern california they offered me a phone interview on Monday.. Thought that was really nice as I didn't ask and was prepared to drive down. Tommorrow will be working on my answers.. There were some hints listed on this site somewhere.. I will share my questions when they are done.. Just finished ethics so I could take bio-ethics there. Would like to take earlier but not if going to cost an arm and a leg as it is an upper division class..

Good Luck:specs:

I visited MSMC acclereated BSN summer 2008 thread and some people posted interview questions there

exact same questions asked this time

so good luck

I really wonder how many students they are interviewing

I think it is about 70-80? because people are still getting interview requests and interview started late november....

does anyone know about the math test we have to take after admission????

what are we supposed to study for???

Thanks I just looked at the web site.. I am expecting that the math test will probably be like the math on the net test.. I bought a general nursing test entrance book and got 100 on the net math that I took at Samuel Merritt. I will ask in the interview about the math test.. I am glad to read such high regard for this school. I haven't visited yet, due to time and money I thought I would see if I got accepted yet. I am not familiar with L.A. and have been reading peoples comments on the area. Does anyone have any suggestions of housing? Also what would be an acceptable commute. That is the main thing that is concerning me about the school that I applied to in the bay area. It took me one hour and 15 mins to get to in non commute traffic. I am thinking with this much studying that is too long to be on the road.. Another question I had.. If you take the bioethics course at Mount St. Mary wouldn't that come in with the price of admission?

Any help would be appreciated

I visted MSMC and the campus is really really small but very beautiful.

Apartments near the school (also near USC.. MSMC and USC are only few blocks away from each other)are pretty cheap (studio=#600, 1 room= starts from $800)

you can go to MSMC housing website to get their price.

http://www.msmc.la.edu/pages/4508.asp

Even without meal plan, MSMC housing is more expensive than apartments.

yeah I think it is NOT good idea to commute from a long distance..

I want to get a walking distance APT or less than 10 minute driving from my APT to MSMC.

From your response, I guess math test isn't too hard

i still should review...

thanks for your info

I think that all those who don't live in LA shoud get an appartment or a place to live on near the campus. the program is too much demanding and no time should be spend on trafic. there is too much traffic in that area, so think twice...

Don't worry about the interview, I know it might be stressful. I wasn't even prepared when I walked in Ms Sarah's office last wee; but it was relax. I don't think they have a set of questions they ask to each applicant. If you have something to hide from them, just try to avoid talking about it. Each person'f file is different, and we all came with different bacground. I really do beleive that the interview's question are specific to each person's file.

Anyway, I wish good luck to each of us and I will be glad to be part of the class this summer. I was thinking about taking the bioethic class, does anyone knows where to go for it since there is nothing said about it under the articulation agrement. I would be glad to know how many qualified applications they have received for the next summer...

Wish you guys all the best!!!:jester:

I just had my interview and I think that it went well. Questions were specific to own life.. I asked about the test.. They said that it was really basic-nothing to worry about.. I have to take another nutrition class since the one that I took was general and they want one speciifc to diseases.. Does anyone have any suggestions.. on line class that would be done in time? Really appreciate it.. I also asked about the cost of the bioethic class there. They said that you probably have to pay extra because it is on top of the 18 units..

Any info from anyone would be appreciated..

Interview went well I thought. Questions were basic and reflected what others have posted about. Nothing to be stressed over as it just seemed like a casual conversation. Mary was very nice. She said they may have interviews through the first week of January with letters going out after the 15th.

As far as the bioethics course, I plan on taking it at the Mount. I believe in another thread here someone stated it cost around $3000 in addition to the nursing tuition.

Not to dampen anyone's spirits, hearing about how everyone got their letters/emails, I doubt that I'd even get a interview. Oh well, on to Plan B! =)

I would call email just to check.. plus someone said that they are still interviewing through January
