Mount Sinai Internship

Published

Hi! I’m working on submitting my references for Mount Sinai’s summer nurse internship and was wondering if anyone else who has interned here before know if it is paid or not? Just wanted to know!

oh okay I'm definitely going to keep an eye out. I'll quote you if I see anything haha. do you know if New York presbyterian has an externship program at their Manhattan location?

I am not sure! I read that in the past they did, but at one point I called their HR and no one gave me information about an internship.

I don't think they do! I've had a few of my clinicals there and unfortunately they don't seem quite as keen on hiring new grads as Mt. Sinai.

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. I am also interested in applying to this internship. When they do post the internship, where would you find it on mount sinai's website. Also, what year of nursing students do they accept, as well as are they competitive with the application process?

@FNP2B1210 The mount sinai environment is really lovely and welcoming and they take very good care of their interns as long as you show real passion and care for the craft- the hours will follow your mentor's hours as closely as possible, which is to say that aside from holidays and the 4th shift every month, you will be working full 12.5 hour shifts 3 times a week, starting around mid June and ending mid august.

looks like the application still isn't open.. do you think they're offering it this year??

Most likely the externship is cancelled but look through these hospitals' career pages. A lot of them are looking for techs to fill their staffing shortages due to the pandemic. It's a foot in the door. @rfg456

Hey guys, reopening the topic. I am finishing my first semester, and am interested in doing an externship as well. From whats been told, Mount Sinai is the best. Is it hard to get through the application in March?

Also very interested to find more our about this internship! I see that it is paid, but is anyone willing to share details? I only ask because I may have to relocate for the Summer and I would like to have an idea if it's financially feasible.

Hey all! Just wondering the time frame from your initial phone interview to receiving an offer? The HR rep told me she would send a verification link to upload my references but it's been about two weeks now.

So, they pay 20$/h.

Most of them do.

The application process is lengthy, basically until May you will be going back and forth submitting things.

I'm also wondering about this. They haven't sent me the email to send my references yet. Does this mean I'm not considered?

This makes me feel a bit less worried. I hope we are, maybe they are coming around to it.

It takes time for each step, couple week. don't be too worried.
Also apply at other places.

I believe Montefiore pays 22/h. I heard great things about their program
