Yes, I’ve gotten the offer! It’s paid and it’s minimum as per hospital protocol for all interns!

hello! I had a great summer at Sinai this year and I really loved the environment! I ended up as an intern on the CCU, where there was no shortage of hands on activity and working at a similar level to your mentor. This year, the application opened and closed within the first week of March, and that’ll be your short window of time for applying- it’s not a super well known program, but they really love to keep all of their interns post-grad, especially if you worked in Heart Hospital or related to Peds.

@mlnyunursing Thank you for the info that's super helpful. I'm doing my clinical rotation there now and I absolutely love it. Wonderful staff and great atmosphere overall. One of my preceptors actually told me he was hired after doing the student intern program so I decided to look into it.

But, I'm curious, what do the hours look like? I'm currently in an accelerated program and will still be in school next summer. However, the last semester is a little lighter. I wonder if it is at all feasible with a busy schedule.

@FNP2B1210 The mount sinai environment is really lovely and welcoming and they take very good care of their interns as long as you show real passion and care for the craft- the hours will follow your mentor's hours as closely as possible, which is to say that aside from holidays and the 4th shift every month, you will be working full 12.5 hour shifts 3 times a week, starting around mid june and ending mid august.

I called their HR department. They told me applications usually open in late March/April. However, a previous comment from last year said that the application opened the first week of March. I'm going to keep an eye out for the application this month.

oh okay I'm definitely going to keep an eye out. I'll quote you if I see anything haha. do you know if New York presbyterian has an externship program at their Manhattan location?
