Has any one (particularly new grads) applied to Mount Sinai? I find their online application really confusing, specifically:
1) The profile thing has a section for employment history and lapses in employment, and I'm not really sure what to do with it - I've worked in the past, but just like summer or part-time jobs in totally unrelated fields, so it doesn't feel super relevant and lapses in employment seems not applicable if I've been a student.
2) Licenses... if you're a new grad, do you just put nothing there, or put pending, or are you supposed to wait until you do have a license?
3) It says there's a place to post a professional copy of your resume in specific jobs, but I do not see a place to do so, at least in the jobs I've checked (onc and cardiac). Is there ever an opportunity to post a resume?
Also... this may seem silly, but when people keep saying "it's important to follow up" who are you supposed to be following up with?
Any help much appreciated!

I've applied there and I don't find it confusing at all. It's pretty straight forward. The only thing I agree with you is that there is no place to upload your resume, I guess they want you to fill in their forms. Fill out everything they ask to the best of your ability, and be honest with the lapses in your employment. When they say "follow up" I would like to think people are talking about the nurse recruiter/human resources.....If you don't have a license yet, they won't hire you. They actually want to see your license # there so they can run background checks on your license. Think about it, if they have to choose between you with missing info and another person who has all their info, they're going to go with whatever's going to make their life easier. Hope that helps!
