Mount Sinai ABSN Fall 2020

Published

Hi everyone,

I just got an acceptance email from PSON!! This school is one of my top choices due to location and association with hospitals.

I was wondering if anyone else reading this got accepted too! I used to live in NYC back in high school, but now I'm in Ohio for college until my lease ends. Is everyone from New York? What are your thoughts about tuition prices and the new hospital on 126th?

Thank you!

Nice to meet everyone. Hope to meet you all in the fall!

hey guys! I just recently applied to the PSON ABSN program for fall 2020! Waiting to hear back as my application deadline got extended due to the virus :)

would anyone be willing to share why they've selected this particular program over others? I unfortunately got waitlisted for the ABSN at Stony Brook University and I'm having a hard time justifying picking this school as SBU was my top choice! I'm graduating in 3 weeks with my BS in health sciences from SBU so I'm definitely biased towards their school LOL.

Also - for those of you who were accepted, would anyone be willing to share their stats (GPA, background, etc)?? I'm getting anxious about this program and starting to doubt myself a bit! Thank you so much, good luck to all!

I was debating between Pace and Mount Sinai- they both seemed to have similar cons about being disorganized. I mostly liked that the Mount Sinai clinicals are within the Mount Sinai system.

I have a bachelors in psychology and have been working at a tech company for the past few years. No medical field experience whatsoever.

My undergrad GPA was 3.2 and my pre requisite GPA was 3.9.

I applied to Mount Sinai, Mercy and Pace. I choose Mount Sinai because of its Hospital and think as a new Nurse it would be awesome to be in there. I am a paralegal and I have been a paralegal for over 10 years so I am changing careers. For my undergrad I have a 2.9 GPA for my graduate 3.7 and my preq 3.8 GPA. I have no medical background at all.

Hello all,

I have also be accepted to the Fall 2020 cohort and am making my final decision between Phillips, LIU, and NYU. I'm leaning towards PSON and need to decide by next Friday.

I'm basically with everyone else here in finding NYU too expensive and being attracted to Mt. Sinai due to the connection with their hospital system.

Has anyone met any current or former Phillips students? It's hard to get a sense of the place from message boards. I've seen a few posts on allnurses where the person clearly had a bad experience, but its hard to know if that is enough to dissuade me. People seem to have the same complaints about lots of different schools (I.e. "disorganized").

I would love to be in touch with some of you are are planning to attend this fall. Is there a facebook group or anything? I'd love to discuss your decision! Good luck all

what made you decide to go to mount sinai? I've read some really horrific things about the school and I'm debating between mount sinai and pace

What did you hear? And was it from this message board? It's really hard to know if this is one person's bad experience or it's deeper, or even if it has something to do with the transition to the new facility.
