Anyone apply and hear anything? Anything at all?

Thank you for the information. = )

alright, i hope to meet you all soon. Accepted for Fall 2011, ADN Program; and i have a day off, great day guys, good vibes to those still waitin'!

Got accepted at Saddlback college for Fall 2011.......going to have to decline Admission for Mount st Marys. ....Good luck to all.

Congrats minorsetback! Awesome news!!! Good things definitely still come to those who wait. And I know you've waited long enough, but I'm sure it was all worth it. :D

Good luck to you AMMABELL! Heard good things about Saddleback's program. :)

SilleeA: I met with Agasia earlier this week. I was also concerned about the schedule, since I'm only available to take classes in the evenings/weekends. She told me that there are classes specifically catered to the PreADN/ADN students, but I have to wait to meet with an advisor to get more information. My appt to meet with an advisor to register is on July 11th.

And I'm continuing to send good thoughts to those who are still waiting. Keep the faith and good luck!!!

minorsetback - congratulations i plan to apply to msmc's adn program too. i'm doing my prereqs at cuesta right now, but i'm confident that i'd finish all of the prereqs for msmc this fall. i won't be able to do the adn at cuesta due to student visa permit limitation. i wonder how long did it take you to be accepted in the adn program. would you plse give some brief information? or is there anyway to contact you? my email address is [email protected]. would be happy if i can get some more information. thanks.

I just found out that I was accepted as a pre-nursing student in the ADN program in the fall, and I still have to complete Philosophy, Microbiology and Chemistry before I can enter into the Nursing program. I live in NY right now, but Mount St. Mary's has always been 100% my first choice school, and I've planned on moving to LA to attend their nursing program for quite some time now. Normally I would be ecstatic that I got accepted, but as a new LVN who has finally just landed a job this week after searching without any luck for months, I feel like it would be a bad decision to walk away from a job. Especially because the job market for LVNs in CA is so tough, and if I go there now I have no experience. Also many of the schools evaluate clinical skills and require working experience in order to receive credit for an LVN license. Does anyone know if I decide not to attend Mount St. Mary's this fall, will it put me at a disadvantage if I want to apply straight into the ADN program for next year instead?

Minorsetback----I'm applying into Mount Saint Mary's ADN program for fall of 2012. I've already read through the thread that you got accepted into their program. I'm really curious to know how you like the program now. Also, were you accepted into the direct nursing option or pre-nursing option? I'm applying with all my science classes done and just needing to finish three of the basic GE requirements: developmental psychology, philosophy-critical thinking, and English 102 at Golden West City College in Huntington Beach. I'm applying with a 2.7 science GPA :uhoh3: but a above 3.0 overall college GPA. Taking the TEAS test next week so if I get invited to take it..I can just transfer my score to them.

Also, can you discuss finances for the school? Like is it a private loan or federal loan that you pulled out to pay for the school? I'm really hoping to get a federal loan because the interest rate will be lower. Hope to hear from you soon! I would really appreciate your reply! Thanks! :)

Hey guys! I'm currently finishing up the end of my first year in the ADN program at MSMC. I know that there isn't a lot of information out on the internet about the program, so please email me if you have any questions at all. [email protected]

Loans (the nitty gritty)

Admittedly, the financial aid department at the school is AWFUL. Please remember not to give them any original copies of anything. They don't offer any great aid for the ADN program unless you can prove that you're very much in need. That means private loans (usually) and lots of them. I know of only two girls in my class of 30 that are receiving grants. The rest of us are getting loans from Sallie Mae and other private loan companies. Thus far I'm $50K in debt and I still have a year to go.

Getting in:

There's an 80% acceptance rate. If you have above a 3.0 and get over a 78% on your TEAS you'll be completely fine. The interview is a breeze - just don't tell them that you want to be a nurse because you want to "help people" or you're in it for the money. Obviously. And if you're going to nursing school for either of those reasons, drop out now since you won't be successful. ;-)

The program is currently in flux. There are a lot of changes going on and I would *highly* recommend that you go to another school if you can. I'll get more into detail about all of that not on a public forum. =)
