Hello!
I applied for the Accelerated BSN at Mount Saint Mary's University in L.A. for Fall 2015. I hadn't seen a thread created yet so thought to make one! Wondering if anybody out there applied and waiting as well?
LBrown1212,
im not sure what you mean by stats on acceptance but I'll give it a shot. I had a 3.3 GPA from my undergrad and then I finished the prereqs at community college. I took about 7 classes after graduating at the community college and only received 2 Bs and the rest As (so I'm not sure what my overall GPA is).
As far as science I can tell you I got a B on every class except chemistry (I received an A).
My score for the math exam that the school requires you to take before the interview was 100%.
LBrown1212, let me know if I've answered your question :)
No I haven't heard anything else. Although last week I called to ask for info about the deadline to pay and the person I spoke to said they would be sending out emails this week....... I'm not sure what she was talking about because I thought we were receiving everything by mail. I didn't ask her what the email was about because I was on a conference break.
j.cast,
Yes that information is so helpful! Did you have any direct patient care experience? I have been looking at the website and others schools and I see that direct patient care experience is recommended such an CNA or EMT certification, have you heard anything about this during the process?
Thanks so much!
LBrown1212,
I don't have any certification but I do have quite a bit of experience. I'll list them:
1) Regional occupational program (ROP) I took in high school I did clerical work and delivered menus to patients in the northridge medical center
2) I volunteered at a clinic in Pacoima, CA called MEND. I shadowed dr.s and helped in pharmacy
3) during my undergrad I did an internship at my school's health center
4) I am currently a UCLA HEALTH intern under the program "Care Extender" it's a one year commitment and they rotate you through different departments
I've gone through oncology, liver transplant, ER, and now cardio thoracic. I've shadowed nurses and helped them bathe patients and have had the opportunity to see procedures (by far, the program I recommend the most) ultimately your experience is what you make of it.
hope this info helps

I only found my pin and stuff when WebAdvisor was available. I contacted IT and they said they were gonna send the issue to higher echelons for review.
As far as orientation I don't know if the packets have been sent yet. I've only got my acceptance letter so far.
Orientation should be provided in those packets. As far as start dates go just go to the posted link below:
