I am planning on applying to Mount Marty's CRNA program in South Dakota this year. Wondering if anyone is applying, in the program, or has gone through the program.

For current students, has anyone tried to work casual status during the Summer?Just looking for insight overall on what to expect!
Hey there! I'm an almost 2nd year at Mount Marty. The Summer semester has no tests. You will have deadlines for papers, group work, and quizzes, so you have some flexibility. You can definitely work during the Summer, although I would encourage you not to do too much! This is your last bit of freedom so use your time wisely. You are supposed to have a couple RTC (return to campus) days, but I am anticipating the school to make a decision about being entirely online this Summer, so those will likely be cancelled and you'll get an extra paper or project to make up for it.
I worked 3 shifts a month which was doable. I definitely could have worked more but I prioritized spending time with my friends and family since I was moving so far away for school. I realize that may be less possible for upcoming students bc of the rona. I also worked ahead and was able to take a week off. If you really hit it hard, you can get your weeks worth of school done in 2 days. 3 if you have a big stats assignment which is generally group based.
Hope this helps!

I chose to go to a program closer to home however I can honestly say this program may be one of the best out there, especially when it comes to support for students. The professor all seemed extremely welcoming, they made me feel at home. They had people bring their support system, wife, parents, etc to the interview. It was one of the only places where I spoke to the students and the students did not have that “exhausted” and “stressed” appearance on their face. Highly highly recommend mount marty

I was just offered an interview and hate to be a pain and I've read through the previous posts, but does anyone have more insight on the clinical sites? It seems like Fargo and Omaha are great sites but I was wondering about Rapid City? Thanks in advance!!
Hey! Sorry I am not helpful with the clinical site info, (my sis lives in Rapid City, their Monument hospital is now recently turned into a Mayo Health System and I believe it’s much better, however I know nothing about the anesthesia aspect.. very beautiful town though!) I applied as well and was curious if you received the offer via email or phone? I have refreshed my NursingCas app like twice a day since forever LOL. Just getting a little antsy!! Super excited for you!

Oh thanks for the info! I tried to look up more about the hospital especially regarding anesthesia but can’t seem to find much and don’t have access to state-specificities on AANA without a membership. I received the invite via email! Someone on a different thread mentioned they send out multiple batches. Fingers crossed for you!!
