Mount Marty CRNA school

Published

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any information on Mount Marty CRNA program. I am thinking about applying to Mount Marty in South Dakota. Any information would be greatly appreciated such as how was the school life balance, rigor of the education, did it fully prepare you to work as a CRNA (especially in a rural setting?), the number of cases, clinical experience, and anything else thats informative. What was your stats like when applying and acceptance? Thanks for taking the time to read and maybe respond.

Hi Everyone,

Hope your interview preparations are going well! It looks like we will be interviewed by two panels. Does anyone know if one panel asks what questions you have for them and the other doesn't? or is anyone planning on asking the same questions to each panel or dividing your questions?

We had two panel interviews last year as well. You will get a variety of questions in each room but there shouldn't be any overlap in questions between the two rooms. I hope that helps you.

Hey there! Wondering if most of their questions are personality based or clinical? From my research I saw it was mostly personality and get to know you type questions but wanted to have some more recent input if you could! Thank you!

Yes. The vast majority of questions that I had were behavioral, get to know you type questions. We do have a new professor that will be interviewing candidates this year but I don't know how he'll interview. I had a few clinical questions, I think, but it was mostly behavioral questions.

Hi CowboyMedic, BSN RN

Any good  suggestions for clinical choices for MMU  DNAP CRNA program?

Thanks?

From what I've heard, every site is pretty good for autonomy except for Sioux Falls. SF is a little more restrictive on what students can do but the vast majority of our students are placed there. Students do have rotations to other sites as well.

I would say that Omaha, Fargo, and Rapid City are some of the better sites.

Sounds good thanks!  Do they usually ask more emotional intelligence questions rather than clinical questions?

Biased because I am at the Fargo site and love it there. Lots of autonomy, huge variety of cases. Site coordinator is awesome. Cons would be we won't get a lot of regional, which I am not worried about - that's what the enrichment rotations will be heavy on.

Yes, I had less than five clinical questions.
