I know we still have about 3.5 months, but figured I'd post this year since I've been stalking last years! I'm nervous, been going through a divorce around the time of HESI and did not do as great as I wanted. My GPA is 3.7 (as of Fall 2015) and current HESI is 83% (I plan on taking it through MTSU again before the due date in January). Anyone else applied for Spring 2016? At this point my score is 693/800, but again I plan on retaking the HESI. Just seeing where everyone is! Any and all information would be awesome! I'm hoping to get in at the McMinnville Campus since it's only a 20 minute drive. Also, if anyone can give me information like how many days a week, etc. that would be amazing!
There is not a set clinical schedule unfortunately. The class will be divided into smaller clinical groups and sent to different locations on either Tues, Thurs, or Fri. This schedule won't be complete until after the semester starts, as several things factor into it, including any pre-reqs that people are taking in addition to the program. As far as telling work...you won't have anything concrete until August. This is a fulltime program, so if you're able to work only weekends, I would highly suggest doing so. I know that's pretty impossible for most people...but so is surviving 1st semester with a fulltime job! Here's my schedule from 1st semester, to give you an idea of what it may look like:
Mon - lecture 9a-12p
Tues - CNL (8 hr lab presentation or 3 hr practice, depending on the material/week)
Weds - lecture 9a-12p
Thurs - Clinical @ NHC Murfreesboro 6:30a-3p
Fri - OFF from school, but full day of clinical paperwork due by midnight
So basically, 2 days of lecture, 1 day of lab, 1 day for clinical (and 1 more for paperwork). This does not include any study time, which you will need lots of!
Hi FrenchieRN2Be! Congrats on your upcoming graduations - that is so exciting!! I am getting ready to order my Calculate w/ Confidence book for dosage calculations. I was wondering if you would recommend renting or buying this book. Any insight is appreciated :) Thanks!
Hi and thanks! I would recommend renting it, as I sold mine back once the semester was over. However, some did find it useful to refer back to if they needed to refresh on particular dosage calculations throughout the program. With that said, I made it by just fine without it, so I'm sure you would too.
Hey everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your summer and getting ready for the semester to start! Here's a list of textbooks that I am selling (I'm a recent grad)...I prefer to sell them as a lot for $400. I understand that some books may have a new edition, but several of my classmates got by fine with older editions.
I am also selling my clinical bag for $25. Very well cared for and absolutely perfect for all of your supplies and books needed for your clinical day!

Hi and congrats to everyone who's been accepted! So exciting!!!
I am a soon-to-be grad from this program (just took our last final TODAY) and I'm already doing inventory on my massive collection of textbooks from the last 2 years. I plan to get rid of most of them, with the exception of Med-Surg Nursing and drug books, so I'll be happy to sell them to one of you for 1/2 the cost of what I paid back when we started (books cost like $800+). I know you guys won't get your book list until orientation this summer, so I will post a list later on of what I'm selling so you can compare it to what you need.
Again congrats to all of you and get ready for the hardest & most rewarding experience of your life!!
