Hello (: my name is Kyla
Just wondering if anybody else is applying to MSCC's 2019 nursing program? The application opens up in a couple of weeks and I have been pretty nervous...I have never applied to a nursing program before and I hear that it is pretty competitive. If anybody would like to share their experience(s) that would be awesome!

I just barely passed the HESI because my whole family came down with the flu/pneumonia right before and I ended up getting it right after taking the test, so it was a rough study. According to what I was told they go by the previous fall's GPA and I have a 4.0 with that (overall is a 3.7), IDK if that is accurate or not, so I think I have an overall score of between a 615/620 going by that standard. What do you think the chances are of getting an acceptance letter?
They go by your GPA from only the classes required for the nursing program, not previous semester. So it depends on those. It's a total of 675 points you can have.

Your score would also depend on your hesi score. What was it and I could give you a better answer

It was a 81.2. On required courses I have mostly A’s and I get the extra 75 points. But it gets fuzzy trying to figure out the GPA part with only required courses (I took some classes before like dosages and they no longer accept that before nursing).

I called the nursing and they helped me with the gpa. There’s a paper online that shows all the prerequisites and they only use those classes. She also told me it wouldn’t count against you if you haven’t take some. And your hesi isn’t that bad! If you have a 4.0 gpa, then your score would be 618/675!

Thank you!
