How you motivate yourself in studying for nclex? And what do you do for you to easily understand everything? Any tips?

The thought of re-testing again after failing was motivation enough for me! So was not giving those horrible instructors I had the satisfaction of knowing that I failed. NO WAY!

i hear ya! i only studied for about two weeks, and for about 3 days in there i didn't study anything!!! i was sooo burnt out and just wanted to give up. but after telling myself that this was something i had to do to pass i picked up my books (after my little break) and kept on going, but it was really hard!! like the other posts mentioned, your desire to be a nurse as well as the desire to not have to take the test again will motivate you! maybe you just need to be kind to yourself for the day and give your noggin a break! maybe my break helped me because i passed with 75 questions. of course, after leaving the test i was convinced i had failed! best of luck to you and keep plugging away!!!!

My motivations are that two letters behind my name and the money because I need to pay back student loans and family members.

Motivation for me is my family. Especially my 4 year old, my parents, my patients and the man above!!!

Kewl, you just have to get it into your head that studying is one of the steps to get that RN behind your name. It's part of it, no way around it. I just have to make myself do it...it's kind of like exercising, I don't like doing it, but I know it's good for me. And remember, every day that goes by, you are one day closer to being a nurse!! Think positive and pray every time you sit down to study that you will remember & recall everything you read. That's what I do. Good luck!!

Same idea, my daughter, and money. And of course a career as rewarding(helping others etc) as this is definitely within the equation.:)
